She tells us why she turned Democrat; I tell why I moved away from the Democrat Party.

She voted for Bush 43 in 2000,  but does not tell us why she did not vote for Gore. 

I am a Democrat because I believe in science.  Climate change cannot, and should not,  be ignored.  I believe in a social safety net, and in helping my fellow citizens through hard times.  I believe in a living wage.  I am tired of seeing the middle class decimated by policies that benefit the super rich.  I want money out of politics, and I'm tired of the rich buying elections.  I do not believe that religion belongs in our government, or in our public schools.  I believe that voting should be made easier for all, not made harder for those who just don't vote the "right way."  I believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege for those lucky enough to afford it.  I believe women should be paid equally with men for their work, and I believe that abortion is a choice for a woman, her doctor, and her God (if she believes in one) only.  I believe people who love each other and want to marry should have that right, regardless of their sexual orientation.  I believe in equality and opportunity, and I will continue to fight for all my fellow citizens to have those things.  (you can read her story at the Daily Kos,  here).  

Editor's notes (updated for textual changes - a few): I am 68 as I write this post. I graduated from high school in 63 and went to college as a uninformed and unwitting Democrat. My family had been "Democrat" since the beginning of time, and the liberal mantra was most appealing to me. JFK was a hero at that time in my life. As a very young observer, I knew he reduced taxes, cared very much for the poor, invented the Peace Corp (pronounced "core" for all you Obama supporters), and, was more the modern day "Republican," than what exists within the Democrat Party, today. 

By the time Jimmy Carter came along, I was somewhat discouraged with the whole political picture. JKF was dead, his brother and Martin Luther King, Jr., had been summarily murdered - all killed by men who claimed the name of Southern Democrat and/or the mob. And then there was the Viet Nam War, a war inherited by Nixon but started by a Democrat Socialist, LBJ. No one ever made a compelling case for that war, and the reason for its waging remains a mystery to me. So, I listened to Carter, a man who campaigned as a Washington "outsider,' promising to change the political scene and reform the way we did business. I campaigned for the man and was an enthusiastic supporter. Time would prove him to be the last Democrat presidential candidate receiving my vote. 

Four years after his inspiring election, we - as a nation - were in the throws of a historic recession with 13% unemployment and 21% interest on home mortgage lending. The world came to a screeching halt - far worse in many ways than what we are experiencing today.    I was a young and aspiring licensed engineering contractor, at the time. 

Unemployment in my trade rose to above 60% and remained at that level for more than four years. "We" were the last of the professions to go back to work when the recession was finally ended by Ronald Reagan's persistence and genius.   Carter? Turns out he didn't have a stinking clue as to the economy . . . . . not a clue. And there was that 444 day Iran hostage crisis thingy -- a crisis that ended within 5 hours of Reagan's inauguration (seriously, 5 hours !!!! --- after Carter and his 444 days of wide-eye, peace at any cost, "negotiations").

The war on poverty had failed, devolving into nothing but years and years of campaign promises by the Democrats, using the poor as a perpetual door to the "next election campaign" (they are still doing that, you know). By the mid-1970's, the radical environmentalist (read "socialist clowns") had taken over the Democrat Party's agenda, and had begun their decades old campaign of fear, scaring us all as to the effects of "acid rain," the depletion of the ozone layer (we were all going to fry) and global . . . . . . . . . . uh . . . . . . . . . . . cooling. That's right, "cooling" was our great fear, at the time. 

And the woman, writing the above, thinks the Dems are the party of science. Geeesh. This is the same party that has been on the wrong side of global/atmospheric disaster for decades and now tells us that you can change your sex by simply saying, "I am now a woman." I mean, how "scientific" is that rhetorical crap? 

Me? I believe in equality for all, as relates to opportunity at all levels, but being a conservative does not force me to change my political persuasions. Gay marriage? Fine with me as long as "they" do not criminalize my vocal disapproval. Unions? Again, "fine with me" as long as they allow me to work outside their membership, as long as they pay their own way and do not come running to me as a taxpayer, sniveling and begging me to bail them out of their financial over-indulgence. And I believe we had universal healthcare, in this country, long before ObamaCare. "Back then," it was called Medicaid and Medicare and, guess what, these two programs will receive 80% of those going into this "new" and "universal" heathcare program . . . . . so why do we need 120 new federal agencies and 5 trillion dollars worth of debt for ObamaCare? What were the reasons, again? 

What is intolerable to me, is this: the anonymous "noteaforums" of the world, want to force me to comply with their standards and their One World, Utopian agenda. They - and she - want to force me to look like them. They hate my God and my Jesus and they can go to hell on that one (pun intended - rather clever, no?). More than this, they want to destroy the centuries old historicity of this great nation. They are lawless in their social reform and more "science deniers" than anyone can imagine. 

Unlike "them," I see "government" as a necessary evil (read "very evil"). Exclude the Federal Government for just a moment, and what do we have? Chaos? Hardly !! We have state run governance; county run governance; city and municipal run governance; a national guard/state run military system with dictatorial power over the citizenry; local police forces with court appointed and legal powers that can rule the day in the absence of any other governmental authority. Our colleges and university system often runs rough-shod over conservative faith and opinion - a form of governance within itself. There is the court system, federal/local, criminal/civil, trial/appellate . . . . . . . more government. Grocery stores tell us what we must pay for our food and public utilities order our residential comfort; banks govern most of our buying habits and give us opportunity to own our own homes. We have the IRS running our lives and . . . . . well . . . . . . . I could go on. But you all get the point. We have government up our wazoo (no pun intended). And the Dufus population of this country, thinks we need more government . . . . . . . . . . . Good grief.

The DNC now believes that even the national media is "out to get them." All we can do is hope for the best, on that laugher of a campaign thought.

Here is a note,  sent to a Democrat supporter,  begging for more and more money (they never stop begging, do they?).  

Some thoughts about this small bit of propaganda:  First,  the DNC is now pretending that the national media and the GOP are partners;  secondly,  it pretends that ObamaCare is both affordable and universal in its intended scope.  It is neither.  

When this is all said and done,  between 30 and 50 million Americans will still be uninsured according to CBO forecasting,  and “affordability” only applies to the indigent poor and low income public.  All others will see their premiums increase by an average of 40% in the first year,  their co-payments double or triple in cost, and their out of pocket annual deductibles rise to as much $15,000 per year.

Here is what is most disturbing about the Progressive/Socialist attack on Wal-Mart:

Beside the fact that Wal-Mart has rights that counter these demonstrations,  i.e. the right to conduct business without fear of physical violence and the stoppage of customer traffic into their stores, and the right to determine its own policy of "upward mobility" for its employees, it also has the right and even the obligation to hire folks full-time and part-time.  The sign in this picture ("I want to work full time") is an effort to criminalize part-time employment.  "They" are not only telling Wal-Mart to pay more for unqualified, entry-level employment,  there is the insistence that "part-time" employment is, somehow, evil   . . . .  and none of these fat folks in the picture work for Wal-Mart.  The store in my home town of 23,000 is a God-send for area residents. It employs hundreds of "locals" who would not be working at all  . . . . . .  period.    These socialist clowns and the mob rule they are trying to impose,  would ruin that reality.  (Note the black dude with sun glasses booing these socialist clowns).  

Rather than cease its illegal targeting activities, the Obama Administration is using the IRS in another intensive attack against the 1st Amendment and its political opposition. (see the 4 min video).

In the eyes of B Hussein Obama, MSNBC is the mainstream media, now-a-days, and they [also] despise our nation's beginnings. They just added another anti-colonialist to prove my point.

Meet the newest face at MSNBC (Ronan Farrow) while I remind you all that this is the network of choice for Barack Obama.  Last week,  he held a “top level” private meeting with “members of the press.”  Three of those invited were hosts on MSNBC.  Juan Williams,  an analyst at FoxNews and a liberal pundit, himself,  was also invited (surprisingly).  What did not make the news cycle is the fact that no one from the “three majors” was invited;  no one from ABC, NBC, or CBS,  which should tell you more about the radical,  anti-US nature of the Progressive/Socialist movement now in power.  The “majors” are simply too “objective” to be of service to Obama. 

Update: It also tells us all that Obama prefers name calling,  slander,  outright lies and classless immaturity when he is under attack,  or his media preference would not be MSNBC.

Thanksgiving: because genocide is a lot more festive 392 years after the fact.

Farrow is the 25-year-old son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen, which tells you just how radical are his parents.  The Daily Caller,  gives us this description:   

He has impressive professional and academic credentials, graduating from college at 15 and Yale Law School at 21 before being named a Rhodes Scholar at 23. He also allegedly worked for Hillary Clinton and the late Richard Holbrooke at the State Department.  

I find the Caller's use of "professional . . . .  credentials" rather humorous,  in view of the fact that he has no professional experience,  if you are measuring "experience" against a backdrop of white and blue collar realities.  He is a privileged white kid,  with the practical experience of a duck and the smarts of an untested Utopian ideologue.  The quote above,  one of his latest tweets,  makes clear his angst at traditional America and its roots.  

If you read this blog on a regular basis,  you know of my claim that the Progressive/socialist cabal is "anti-colonial" at its core.  By that I mean what is on display with the Ronan Farrow tweet.  There is nothing about the founding of our nation that is endearing to this bunch of patriot impostors   . . . . .  nothing.  

They believe we took this country away from an established civilization,  that we killed "at least 90%" of them when establishing the 13 colonies, that the subsequent charters,  the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and its amendments  were all illegal and the work of white slave traders.  And,  they are arrogant in their beliefs and condescending in their defense of same.  To confirm some of my charge,  go to cracked.com for an example of the "up your nose" discussion of many of these issues.  

Note: When you read this article,  keep in mind the following:  a "successful [Viking] colony" does not fail within 24 months of its creation;  the native population is numbered at between 100 nillion and 20 million individuals - which begs the question of "Which is it, 20 or 100 million?" and offers no proof that more than a few thousand nomads lived up and down the East Coast in 1640 or at the time of Columbus; the claim that European invaders killed  "at least" 90% of the native population would mean,  of course,  there could not have been enough native population to stage a serious "military" response to the evil colonialists in the Indian Wars  fought by George Washington and the colonialists prior to 1776.   

In the end,  it gets complicated as one deals with the many lies told by the Far Left about this nation's founding.  Suffice it to say,  this bunch of cowards would have never left Europe,  much less established a nation like ours.  While considered "academics,"  none of them have the political instincts to craft a representative democracy.  Look at their agenda,  today.  They want to criminalize opposition influence and speech and run this nation in total disregard for minority opinion - all of which is the very opposite of a representative democracy.    Doubt me?  Understand that ObamaCare has not had a single month in which polling data has shown support for the bill itself.  The idea of universal healthcare is very popular.  ObamaCare is not nor has it ever been the majority's preference yet it was passed into law by a leadership not responsive to majority opinion. 

The majority of American's believe it is wrong to use the IRS to target one's political enemies.  Most believe Benghazi needs to investigated further and 70% of the voting public no longer believes that "global warming" is the crisis the Progressive/Socialists claim it to be  --  but the Left cares nothing for public opinion.  They are driven by their socialist agenda,  not the "will of the people" and they will enslave a whole nation if that is what is demanded for the advancement of their agenda  . . . . . .   believe that !!  

If the past five years has not exposed the Left for what it is,  such will never happen.  2014 AND 2016 will tell us much as to the future of Socialist/Liberalism.

The media continues to turn against Obama.

 From Breitbart.com:  The coalition of major news outlets protesting the White House’s photo policy continues to grow, with McClatchy newspapers adding their name on Wednesday to the list of publications that will no longer print official administration images.

Editor's notes:  the media is upset with the extent of media control usurped by the Obama Administration.  This is the first Administration to attempt to dictate release of agenda news and WH photos.  

If you are a Boomer,  as I,  you will remember Nixon and his disdain for the media.  In fact,  he made media his enemy and they crushed him.  

Obama, likewise,  is no friend of the media.  But where Nixon sought to separate himself from media analysis and exposure,  Obama pretended to be Media's friend,  inviting those who are or were approved to sit at his table,  and partake of that which he served up.  In the end, however,  he spied on them [all] and limited access to his White House.  

What good is a "free press" when it acts as an agent of Central Planning?  The notion of a free press completely disappeared during the past 6 years,  beginning with its coverage of Obama in 2008.  Today,  after all this time,  a compliant media has suddenly realized what has happened to them and they are torn between their ideological approval of Obama's social programs  (90% of media agents are socialist/redistribution minded ideologues) and their constitutional rights to function as they see fit.  

If Obama had been a Republican ideologue,  his claim to being a "constitutional scholar" would have been fully vetted, for example.   Instead,  we have a man [still] making that claim,  yet,  without any lecture notes or appearances related to that scholarship,  having not written a single paper of note,  peer-reviewed or otherwise, and having taught a 10 year summer program of no more than three classes per summer.  There are no student summaries of this man,  no one he taught has come forward to proclaim his excellence,  and his transcripts have all been sealed.  When I say "all" I mean to include high school,  college and his work at Harvard.  

We all remember the raze given to Bush 43 for his ancient DUI,  but many, if not most,  are unaware that Obama did coke,  marijuana,  and drank "with enthusiasm"  throughout his last two years in highschool and his first year (at least) in college - and that information comes from his own statements.   

In years gone by,  the press would have vetted his qualifications for High Office instead of choosing between Obama and Hillary Clinton solely on the basis of ideological proclivities.  Understand that Obama's advertised radicalism was more inline with the present day Large Media than anyone in modern history.  There are plenty of qualified blacks.  But, there is only one rhetorically superior black in the Democrat Party.  "They" thought they could use him as a partner.  Turns out,  he does not like "partners," and prefers functioning as an elitist academic to the exclusion of qualified assistants or a "swooning" media.  

And now,  he is paying the price as are all of us.

Take just a minute or two and scan the headlines for November 28,  Thanksgiving Day.  Ask yourself this:  are there any headlines that I really need to pursue?  What happened to Obama and his grand agenda?  Where are the political victories and scams?  

Understand that this has been the picture for nearly two years,  and,  especially, since the 2012 election.  For a political blogger, news is slow to develop and the choices are meager.  Where I once wrote 6 to 10 articles a day,  now,  I often write just two or three,  and I have to work at that.  Traffic to my blog  is a third of what it was a year ago.  And,  viewership for all of network and cable news is down,  considerably.  

There is little to report that does not go to the soap opera that is the Obama Agenda.  Most - including his supporters - are tired of the lies and the word-smithing.  The man refuses to deal with his ineptitude and gross mistakes,  believing,  somehow,  that he is fooling the majority of the nation in spite of the fact that his approval ratings are down near 40% and his performance ratings are in the mid-30 percentile.  And to think,  we have three full years of this nonsense remaining, before we get someone,  lib or conservative, who is actually qualified to serve as "president."  

What better reason to put all this political garbage on the shelf, and thoroughly enjoy this day,  whether with friends and family,  or all by your lonesome.  We all have much to be thankful for,  in view of the fact that we Americans,  comprise the richest civilization in human history  . . . . .  and the Progressive/Socialists want to fix  . . . . what?

The Administration just proved Ted Cruz correct, and has postponed the small business mandate for a full year.

The Obama administration today announced a one year delay of online enrollment for small businesses looking to purchase health coverage through federal Obamacare exchanges, another high-profile setback for HealthCare.gov.   It’s the second delay for online small business enrollment, which the administration had said would begin this month.

The White House is trying to get the troubled enrollment website on track for individuals and families seeking coverage, which is a higher priority. It set this Saturday, Nov. 30, as a target date for getting HealthCare.gov working for the “vast majority” of users.

The delay of the small business exchanges comes as little surprise, as the administration had said earlier this week it would offer alternative ways for small businesses to enroll. Still, it undercuts the White House message that it’s beginning to turn around the disastrous rollout of the health care law.

Editor’s notes:  Turns out the reason given for the “shutdown strategy” lead by Ted Cruz and Mike Lee (both Senators) was more correct than anyone had believed.  ObamaCare needed to be postponed for a year,  and now we learn that this is exactly what is happening as the Obama Administration comes face to face to with its own feckless ineptitude.  Of course,  the postponement moves this legislative catastrophe past the midterm election cycle of 2014 by a matter of days,  giving the one-world socialists an opportunity to minimize the election disaster that is being predicted by all,  including their own strategists. 

Conservatives need to camp on the demonstrative fact,  with this postponement,  that “we” were right to call for the postponement,  and the Administration was dead wrong (along with John McCain and the Ignorants he represents within the RINO Herd of the GOP).   You should know that a full 40% (if not 60% to 70%) of the ObamaCare website has not yet been written.  And the website is the least of the Administrations problems.  The fact remains that premiums are going to increase by more than 40%,  on average,  and for some segments of the population,  they will increase by 300%.  More than this,  at the end of the day,  there will still be 30/50 million folks without insurance.  the indigent poor will be channeled into Medicare where that budget now projects 42 trillion in unfunded liabilities and the fantasy of "affordable healthcare reform" fully exposed.  

Sorry folks,  but this is going to be the storyline of the century,  and its news cycle is just beginning.
