If this series of votes represents a "realignment" within the GOP, here are the candidates: First, in the Senate

27 members of the GOP are herein identified as “moderate compromisers” within the party.  By contrast,  this “new” party alignment saw 18 members of the Senate GOP vote against the McCain Liberals.

Most,  if not all of McCain’s cabal, decided from the get go,  that this was not a fight worth having.  Most, over the years,   have joined with the socialists in the Senate to increase the powers of the executive branch and to forgo debate or legislation that requires an actual budget each and every year.  They are lead by the worst thing that has ever happened to the GOP,  John McCain with his losing strategy of compromise and acquiescence.

While McCain blames Ted Cruz for the current failures in the party,  the fact remains that his feckless 2008 gave the Democrats our first Socialist/One World president and an impeachable Democrat majority in both houses of congress.  McCain did that.  And in the doing,  he provided for the narrow victory that brought ObamaCare into existence without a single Republican vote.

Understand that the conservative influence within the GOP continues to grow and is now,  the majority opinion with that party,  if one includes House party members.  In terms of raw numbers,  the GOP – based on the vote Wednesday – has 162 members in both houses of congress,  ready to take the fight to the socialists and 116 who seek nothing short but compromise for the sake of winning elections.
