85 big spending Republicans joined hands with Hussein
Obama, and voted to approve the Senate bill. 151 House Republicans
voted against the bill; only 8 GOP Senators voted
"nay." But, a majority of Democrats partnered with Boehner to defeat members of his own party.
Darrell Issa, a ranking House member, stated that he thought those Republicans who voted for this bill were drunk . . . . . . . I say "drunk or stupid."
If the bill had failed, in the House, Boehner
would have been blamed. As it is, his new found friends on the Left will stick it to him anyway, beginning tomorrow morning. This is what happens when one bargains with crooks and liars.
After losing the Right side of the party with the vote
today, one wonders just how Boehner and friends plan on keeping the
House, in 2014 . . . . . . or how the GOP will win the next
national election without benefit of conservative independents across the
nation.
I really do not understand GOP leadership. They worried about popular opinion instead of how they were going to keep the party together if they turned on their own membership. Now, the threat of losing the House to Pelosi is a 70% proposition and all that "good favor" Boehner thought he might have, is gone.
Finally, you should know that the "teaparty caucus," that caucus Boehner denied existed, has 51 Representatives. 151 Republicans voted against this (in the House). Conclusion: there is a larger conservative membership than the teaparty caucus.
Significant members who voted against this bill? Marsha Blackburn, Peter King and Eric Cantor in the House; Rand Paul and Marco Rubio in the Senate.
