The chart shows a tight race but one in which the parameters have changed, radically. Back when Romney's candidacy was in question, Obama ran ahead of Romney for a entire month. By mid-March, the race for the GOP nomination had solidified around Romney and the two combatants traded blows for an ensuing month.
