Pelosi wants to amend the Constitution. So far, she is the only congressional figure on board with this idea. (update: video added)

Pelosi fools no one.  She is now involved in an effort to not only  silence opposition speech,  but gather information on those who are the opposition in order to terrorize them,  their families and their businesses.    She is a scheming and classless politician with 2009 as a testament to her willingness to rule as if a dictator.  She was the person put in charge of writing ObamaCare.  That is precisely why it is as much a legislative mess as it is.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday endorsed a movement announced by other congressional Democrats on Wednesday to ratify an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow Congress to regulate political speech when it is engaged in by corporations as opposed to individuals.

Pelosi said the Democrats’ effort to amend the Constitution is part of a three-pronged strategy that also includes promoting the DISCLOSE Act, which would increase disclosure requirements for organizations running political ads, and “reducing the role of money in campaigns” (which some Democrats have said can be done through taxpayer funding of campaigns).

The constitutional amendment the Democrats seek would reverse the Supreme Court’s 2010 decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. In that decision the court said that the First Amendment protects a right of free speech for corporations as well as for individuals, and that corporations (including those that produce newspapers, films and books) have a right to speak about politicians and their records just as individuals do.

A three prong attack our individual, free speech rights?  

First this woman wants to have a select panel  that would determine if political speech was true or not.  Under the Pelosi rule,  only "accurate"  speech would be allowed.   Of course,  her side of the aisle never misrepresents anything,  so this panel would be in place to silence conservative talk.  

More than this,  she wants to silence corporate political speech.  She has a problem, however, in addition to the fact that this effort will never see the light of day.  Silencing corporate talk would effect Hollywood/TV  movies that  push a political point of view (like Law and Order or any of the sex/tough girl shows on TV),  newspapers, colleges and universities  as well as  union contributions used for political purposes.  

"Full disclosure" requirements only give the radical Left the information they need to terrorize those whose speech is counter to the Leftist agenda.  

Reducing the role of money used  in campaigns, is, again,  something that would benefit the Left,  since they are the ones who have driven the campaign private money.
