Obama replaces "life on the farm" with government training programs and the end to 4-H and the FFA.

Update:  you should know that the Department of Labor has increased its size by 40% under the Obama Administration.  You should know that 70% of all farms are owned by family businesses and run by children of farmers,  from 20 years ago.    You should know that the injury rate for kids on farms has been reduce by half,  since 2005, to among the lowest for any kids activity in the nation.

Update #2: the Administration announced, yesterday,  that it would not pursue its 87 page assault [my word] on the American farmer.

******
Why is the Government making this decision during an election year?  Understand that we are looking at one of the most ridiculous campaign year decisions of all time.
The Daily Caller is reporting an Administration attack on 4-H and FFA clubs across the nation with a . . . . .
"a proposal from the Obama administration to prevent children from doing farm chores has drawn plenty of criticism from rural-district members of Congress. But now it’s attracting barbs from farm kids themselves.
The Department of Labor is poised to put the finishing touches on a rule that would apply child-labor laws to children working on family farms, prohibiting them from performing a list of jobs on their own families’ land.
Under the rules, children under 18 could no longer work “in the storing, marketing and transporting of farm product raw materials.”

The new regulations, first proposed August 31 by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, would also revoke the government’s approval of safety training and certification taught by independent groups like 4-H and FFA, replacing them instead with a 90-hour federal government training course.

Editor's notes:  here is a rule that will not continue.  Understand that Obama has no use for the white man's traditions and this is a perfect example of his structured angst.  No one in my family will honor such decisions. No one in my family will allow the feds to train their children to do anything.

Just another reason why the idiot in OUR White House needs to be gone.

The only hope in all this,  is found in the fact that Congress has 30 days to amend this rule . . . . .  start writing your letters and making your phone calls.
