We have been under attack for several decades, now,
under attack from within. In these latter days, the enemy has finally
given us definition as to their intentions:
"Barack knows that we are going to have
to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we're going
to have to change our traditions, our history; we're going to have to move into
a different place as a nation."
We must never allow this to be the final chapter in
the telling of our history.
The world is a better place because of US. Our
shortcomings do not define us because they do not remain in perpetuity.
Our willingness to fight and die for others is the very thing that makes
US an exceptional people. We have shed our own blood to set aright,
wrongs within our own nation. We have fought and died for France,
England, Germany, the whole of the European Continent, and
the Middle East. We have done more as an outside nation in Africa than
all other nations combined. Hail to that nation willing to move forward while
laying hold of its foundations, united with those who have died for that which
the living proudly serve.
Does a patriot spend time trying to convince people that the American economy is going down? That the auto industry is a faiure? That more people are unemployed than you might think? That there is no economic recovery? Roots for higher gas prices?
ReplyDeleteNo, that's someone who is invensted in America's failure. Not a patriot.
Indeed, it is not I who tells the masses that things are so bad, that the Constitutional system has failed so miserably, that "victory" is such an undefinable postulate, that we must change the very historicity of our nation. I am not the one saying the only way to avoid continual failure and national embarrassment on the world's stage is to fundamentally transform this nation, to move us away from our traditions, from our very history, and into a different place as a nation. That, my hippified friend, is the rhetoric of an anarchist bent on the destruction of this nation in the name of revival. Such is the rhetoric of those who would betray us. Such is the talk of fools.
ReplyDeleteHere's some good news, my redneck friend.
ReplyDeleteYou do know that permit process on non-federal lands takes approx 4 years, right? Obama cancelled 70 permits on Federal lands, in Utah alone. All private drilling has been permitted under the Bush years.
