When asked who "they" would vote for in the context of
the GOP primary process. the news (this morning) gives us this answer:
Rasmussen Reports survey: Romney 50% versus Santorum at 38%.
In view of
the success of Santorum in Michigan, it is apparent to me, that the Senator is experiencing a visceral backlash to his decision to encourage socialist Democrat union members to vote for him in the Michigan contest.
He stupidly claimed to believe that he was bringing "Reagan
Democrats" into the GOP election process, when, in fact, "Reagan" Democrats are non-existent. In making this claim,
he missed the point of Democrat involvement - to stack the election in
their favor. He had already taken the bait as to
the contraception issue, setting in stone the Obama strategy should
he, Santorum, win the nomination. With a Santorum candidacy, we would be listening to a debate about JFK, contraception and the abortion issue instead of "all things Obama."
Understand that my
choices are not in the contest . . . . . as are yours, no doubt. But it is looking
like Romney is going to be our man. While none of us are overly excited,
I can tell you this: should Romney pick an admitted
"conservative" for a running mate, the GOP base will almost
suddenly come alive. His choice for VP will be a game changer, one way or the other.
We are all tired of
being lied to. Three years of one of the most prolific liars in American
history has made us all suspicious of anyone with political aspirations. A conservative choice by Romney will convince most of us that he is serious about our agenda . . . . . . . . . . precisely the way it should be in a representative democracy.
