Gloria Alred no longer cares about maintaining her public persona. She is only about two things: making money and attacking the Left as often as she can. |
The following news release reveals just how difficult the slim class of lawyers can make things for people who are trying to do the right thing. In a written compliant, this Leftist windbag has made it clear that she intends to use Florida law and Rush's apology to permanent silence the talk show giant.
(TPM) – Gloria Allred has sent a letter
to Denise Nieman, the County Prosecutor in West Palm Beach, Florida, on behalf
of the Women’s Equal Rights Legal Defense and Education Fund, asking for an
investigation into whether Rush Limbaugh violated Florida defamation law when
he called Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute.” Allred cites Section 836.04
of Florida Statute, which says that “whoever speaks of and concerning any
woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of
chastity, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.”
“Mr. Limbaugh has publicly
acknowledged that his reference to Ms. Fluke as a ‘slut’ and ‘prostitute’ were
baseless and false,” Allred writes. “In view of the fact that Mr. Limbaugh
resides in your county and allegedly made the false statements concerning Ms.
Fluke in your county as well, this letter is directed to your office.”
William Jacobson, an associate law professor at Cornell University and editor of Legal Insurrection , had this to say about Alred's proposition: " . . . . if this [Florida] law actually were enforced, hundreds . . . . of liberal comics, TV personalities, Hollywood actors and music stars would have to be round up" and prosecuted.
Alred sees no problem in her selective "prosecution" of wrongs committed against [only] the politically correct (i.e. Sandra Fluke and other Democrats, for example). Of course, this prosecution, should it have legs, is nothing short of a malicious prosecution, designed not only to get even with Limbaugh, but to send a chilling message to all who would dare disagree with the power mongers in the Socialist Democrat Party.
Look what these creeps did to Joe the Plumber. Until he came along, the private citizen was off limits as far as legal and media action were concerned. But, with Joe the Plumber, that all changed. Before he became "famous," but, after he had confronted candidate Obama, MSNBC and CNN committed to a full throated investigation of his personal and private life. Suddenly, the average Joe citizen knew that he would be a target of those from the Left if he dared to stand up against them or voice his opinion.
In his press conference (March 6), Obama revealed the depth of his hypocricy as relates to the cause of the private citizen, the very subject of my above complaint above. As you read, note his feigned concern for the "private citizen."
And I wanted Sandra to know [in his recent phone call] that I thought her parents
should be proud of her, and that we want to send a message to all our young
people that being part of a democracy involves argument and disagreements and
debate, and we want you to be engaged, and there’s a way to do it that doesn’t
involve you being demeaned and insulted, particularly when you’re a private
citizen.
Let's not forget that while the pretender is acting out his righteous persona on national television, it was Obama, himself, who has used the word "teabagger" (a term defining what gay men do with each other's scrotum) and applauded union leaders calling free-market conservatives "sons-a-bitches." He did not call
Laura Ingraham after she was called a slut by Ed Shultz of MSNBC News. He condoned the media attack on Joe the Plumber when Joe was a nobody, private citizen. The fact of this matter is this: Obama cares nothing about the free speech rights of dissenters, or the social concerns of conservative private citizens. He has proven such to be true, time and time again.
Conclusion: This current news cycle will pass, Rush will be stronger than ever, and we get back on track in our effort to drive Obama back into private citizen status.
It's not just Limbaugh, 98 sponsors have now left conservative nutjob radio shows - Mark Levin, Tom Leykis, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity.
ReplyDeleteGame over, you're losing.
You are a riot. 18,000 to 24,000 individual commercials air during the "Limbaugh Hour." Hugh Hewitt has around 7,000 commercial minutes during his three hour show, nation wide. The Hannity Show produces around 14,000 commercials across the nation. Levin has much the same numbers as Hewitt. Michael Savage has 6,000. Add that up and you are looking at 45,000 commercials with just those five shows . . . . and you think 90 commercials sponsors is a problem?
ReplyDeleteSecondly, advertisers are [also] avoiding pundits on MSNBC, Bill Maher, Current TV and a number of liberal hosts.
Third: of course, this knee-jerk reaction will not last. Already, Carbonite and Number Bed have repented. In the end, advertising is about making money, not pushing a feigned "moral agenda", an oxymoron in the case of Liberal broadcasting.
