The fact of the matter is discovered in a linear tracking of the Rasmussen. Well before the end of B Obama's first year as "president," he had entered an approval corridor in which he remains to this day. America lost faith with this man years ago, and, somehow, we are to believe that he will win re-election without reviving that loss of confidence(?).
While the chart, above, reports on the daily lack-of-approval rating for Obama, the real polling disaster for B Obama is the "Strongly approve" column. He is down 25 points from his 2008 ratings in this category. If you think Obama is going to win re-election without an enthusiastic base, well, you are in denial of the historic facts.
