A great line, but keep in mind that Dole really was the Establishment candidate. It was "his turn" and no one believed that he ever had a chance of beating Clinton in his bid to win re-election. The GOP didn't even try. Dole, a wonderful man, got the nomination because he deserved the opportunity, period.
But it is funny line.
