I’ve got some real
concerns about this movement within the Republican Party and the Tea Party
movement to sort of refashion conservatism.
I will vocally and publicly oppose it and do my best to correct the
record.
In these
words, we have Rick Santorum’s expressed concern about the influence Ron Paul
and his brand of “libertarianism” might be having on the grassroots, TEA party
conservative movement within the GOP. Some folks are, apparently, using these comments to frame Rick Santorum as being anti-TEA party.
I say, "Rick Santorum supports the TEA party movement but is concerned with the influence of libertarian content within the GOP." Judge for yourself.
What concerns me with the GOP is that it is willing to take
anyone who claims to be of like mind. Michael Bloomberg and
Arnold Schwarzenegger have been prominent members, in the past.
Now, we have allowed Ron Paul to use the GOP stage to gain
popularity while he subtly threatens a third party candidacy.
