Electric cars have been around in form and concept for 180 years. Here is why we are still years away from electric cars being a big hit in America.

This is a car. Really. It will hold two really skinny women. It can't tow anything. And it cost four times the price of a regular golf cart.

This is where the Woodstockers of the Left and their offspring --- yes, they did reproduce -- want to take modern civilization, back to . . . . . . . . Europe.

The batteries have to be recharged every 40 miles or so with energy that is produced by fossil fuel - no one ever mentions that. In addition, it takes 20 hours to recharge a Leaf battery with a 120 volt outlet. There are very few charging stations outside the home environment. Costco, two months ago, announced they were taking out all their recharging stations, due to lack of usage.

The disposal of these batteries is another huge headache, a very expensive process and, currently, there is no green solution for disposal anywhere in sight. New batteries cost $8,000 each and the government pays $7,000 in reimbursements for every purchased Volt. In time, the government will subsidize all of the electric car industry, as governments do in Europe.
