'President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out'
The opening act to Obama's speech, today, was Jimmy Hoffa. In his opening comments, he referred to the TEA Party as "sons of bitches," spoke of going to "war" against them, and told our novice leader, "This is your army, Mr. President."
In Obama's subsequent comments, he let Haff'a's characterizations stand and implied that the nonunion opposition to the Wisconsin teachers' unions are those who opposed progress and rights for the common working man. Never mind the fact that "those people" are the majority in Wisconsin. Never mind the fact that "they" have won the three most recent elections. Never mind the fact that the state voted for Obama and his union supported buds by more than 18 points in the 2008 elections, a margin that no longer exists in that state. Never mind the fact that the nation cannot afford the extravagant retirement benefit programs of the unions. Never mind that "collective bargaining" for wages is still in tact.
If Obama thinks he is going to march back into the White House with nothing but well worded campaign speeches, he has another thing coming in November of 2012. More than a referendum on Obama, the 2012 election will be a referendum on getting things done, on having put America back to work, on results.
Update: Understand that harsh rhetoric is typical to the Democrat support system. Take the reported comments of Richard Trumka, the head of the AFL-CIO:
September 8, 2010: Trumka praises Nancy Pelosi for taking Obamacare and driving “it down the Republicans’ throats and out their backsides.”
