Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
Obama "spiking the ball?" OOOOOh, you betcha !!
Think about it: he has never visited Ground Zero; not as an Illinois Senator; not as an U.S. Senator; not as a president. Never. But today, hey, he is going to make an appearance.
Who knows, maybe he will visit Israel, next. After all, it is the campaign season for this jerk.
And, this morning, news reports tell us that Obama has decided to not release pictures of Osama's carcase. More than that, turns out he has given us two, maybe three, versions of what happened. Then there is the matter of him taking 16 hours to make the decision to kill the Muslim Coward -- anyone remember the stink raised by the Democrats and their Minion Media about Bush taking 8 minutes to leave that classroom, back on 9/11? And, he had the body dumped in the ocean, sending the message to the world, "trust me in this matter." Could this clown have handled Osama death in any way worse than he has??
Do I think Osama was killed. Absolutely. Do I think that Obama is devoid of any and all political instincts? You guessed it.
That Pew poll giving him a 9 point bounce? That ridiculous ABC poll giving him a 12 point bounce? Geeeesh. The Libs sure are busy manufacturing numbers, aren't they.
Compare these partisan numbers with Gallup at 50% , up from 44% three days ago, and, Rasmussen at 48% representing no change at all. Understand this, Obama's re-election is not reassured because of this single event. Far from it.
Here is the number the Obama crowd needs to pay attention to: 474,000.
That is the new first-time unemployed number. Four weeks ago, the Administration was bragging about a 380,000 number and touting "the recession is over." Now, after a third week of increasing unemployment ABOVE the 400,000 mark, there is fear that we are moving back into the 500,000 bracket. Understand that this is a weekly measurement. "500,000" is more than 2 million jobs lost per month. Now, that gets offset by job-creation numbers, but the contrast is not in our favor until the unemployment weekly total is closer to 300,000 per week. Our economy produces - presently - somewhere between 160,000 and 220,000 jobs per week. When the economy is in good shape, our job-creation number is closer to 400,000 and the first time unemployment number around 200,000 or less.
In due time, the economy will trump Osama's death and the Jerk will be back in the tank. Know this, that he cannot exist for more than three or four days without doing something stupid, so I do not worry about the current bump.
And I like the picture. Kind of looks like Patraeus is thinking, " What the . . . . ." and, Panetta is about to cry. Sometimes, I feel like Penetta.
