I am listening to the son of Tim Russert reporting on MSNBC . . . . very disappointed in the icon's son and his unqualified report. He claims the Republicans will shut down the government on or about March 4. He apparently does not know that "necessary services" such as Medicare and Social Security payouts will continue. He does not know - or worse, is lying - about legislation that has been passed since the 1990's preventing a total governmental shutdown. In his report, he made mention of the failed Democrat budget for fiscal year 2011, the fiscal year we are currently in. In Russert's own words, " . . . the Dems were not able to pass a budget for this fiscal year" when he should have said, "The Democrat 111th Congress refused to pass a single one of the 13 appropriation bills necessary for the creation of a legislative budget. In fact, there was not so much as an official outline of a budget created by the congress." They were more than able to do. That is the fact and that is what the young man should have said. But, unlike his dad, he is being controlled by the radicals at MSNBC. Understand that we have to pass one emergency [CR or "continuing resolution"] budget bill after another because the Dems refused to do their legislative duty. It is the first time in our national history that congress refused to even consider a budget. Who is at fault for the current budget crisis? The answer is clear -- the Democrats to the exclusion of anyone other party or influence, period.
While listening to MSNBC, Contessa Brewer interviewed a Wisconsin Senator named Julie Lassa, " . . . on the phone from an undisclosed location." I had to laugh. I am 65 years old have never listened to an interview of an elected state official attempting to rule while in hiding. Anyone out there in Lala Land remember a state legislature going underground?? During the interview, Brewer asked, "any chance that the authorities will find you ?" to which this senator, in violation of several state laws, said "no."
Folks, this is where the Democrat Party has gone. We are witnessing [perhaps] the final stages of the de-evolution of the Radicalized Socialist Democrat Party. How could one argue otherwise ??
Before leaving this story, understand contrary to the claims of union members, the legislation in question, does NOT take down collective bargaining for wages. Legacy programs will be effected in that the Governor wants union members to pay 12% of their salaries for health care [half the national average] and 5% of their salaries (up from .2%) on their retirement benefits. In exchange for these adjustments, the state will not have to lay off hundreds of state and educational workers. That this is an "assault on the unions" as our partisan president claims, is simply false. . . . . and we mean to say that his comments are not true in the slightest; they are an overt lie.
As of this morning's news cycle, Obama has decided to use the power of the White House to organize and mobilize union workers in several states, proving, once again, that he is not a president for all the people. Jerk. Via his Organization for America (OFA) is sending 25,000 'volunteers' to Madison in an effort to defeat the legislative will of the State of Wisconsin.
Know this, more than 60% of Wisconsin's citizenry approves of Governor Scott Walker's efforts. He took office 6 days ago to do exactly what he elected to do.
