Dems on verge of a nervous breakdown? Some at the NY Times think 'maybe.'

From the Editor: Reporters at the New York Times, of all media outlets, see the last stages of the 111th Congress as thrusting about in the final stages of mindless rebellion to the realities of the midterm debacle. They knew it was going to happen but the likes of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama told the faithful not to worry. In the end, the defeat was more than any of them had imagined and now, they are lost and without any sense of direction. According to the Times and from its point of view, "the Democratic Party is in the midst of a nervous breakdown." They are busy sttacking John Boehner as if that will put them back into the news cycle in a meaningful way. Chuckie Schumer believes that political hay can be reaped from putting up a fight on "no tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. The Dream Act has higher priority than jobs, or tax cuts or budgetary legislation that was due last March.

The GOP leadership has made it clear that it will consider the New Start treatise and even DADT legislation if agreement can be made with regard to the issues just mentioned. But the Dems are hell bent on turning the election results around and wresting control of the Congress away from the conservative wave that is moving into D.C. Ain't going to happen and in the meantime, the Democrat leadership is looking more like losers than even they can imagine.

More Editor's notes:

It truly is rather incredible that the Dems continue to push for their pet projects rather than wrestle with the jobs problem, the tax issue that has been before them for two years, or the budget statement that was due [by law] last March !!!

Instead, Reid has circumvented committee reports and hand crafted Amnesty legislation rather than schedule debate and resolution for the tax issue and current-year budget legislation. Know this: Reid has not written one such Amnesty bill, he has written four and intends on the Senate voting on each.

Pelosi is busy telling anyone who will listen that unemployment benefit legislation returns two dollars into the economy for every dollar spent, that it is the single most effective jobs creation legislation the Congress can pass. If this were true, we could put the entire national work force on unemployment benefit and double our GDP at the same time, no ???

And Obama? Well, while his leadership is sorely needed at home, he runs off to Afghanistan and continues to plan for his 7th vacation since becoming president.

What we have here, folks, is the Mount Rushmore of Incompetence !!

Or, are we looking at the nation's first collective nervous breakdown ?
