We are commonly told that NPR only gets one to three percent of its funding from the Feds. So why do we have this headline:
Michael O'Brien / The Hill:
NPR says it's ‘imperative’ that its federal funding not be cut
The fact of the matter is this: NPR has more than 900 affiliate stations. There has to be a system in effect that funnels Federal funds from the affiliates back to the Corporation that is in addition 1 to 3 percent NPR admits to receiving from the government. If not, it would be a simple matter for NPR to make a 1 to 3 percent expense adjustment and move on. In fact, George Soros should be able to match the deleted funds. The apparent fact is this: NPR receives much more than what it admits to, hence the problem mentioned in the headline.
Point of post: the Marxists among us have more of a communication system in place than anyone had previously imagined. NPR is a critical aspect of that system. Those 900 affiliates? Compare this to the 730 stations in the Limbaugh kingdom. NPR is huge.
