Bush speaks to 2000 and receives a well deserved standing ovation Bush spoke Tuesday before a sold-out crowd of 2,000 people during the 76th lecture as part of The University of Texas at Tyler's Distinguished Lecture Series. He walked on the stage to a standing ovation. People in the audience were pumping their fists and whistling. One audience member shouted, “Bring back Bush,” at one point during the presentation. He would receive at least two more standing ovations before the end of his speech. . . .
Notes: Bush is now more popular than Obama. The funny thing is this: we think he could beat Obama or Clinton if an election were held this coming Tuesday. Obama came into office criticizing Bush, and, once elected, promptly began to prosecute the war effort as per the Bush plan. He has kept open GITMO. He continues to use rendition and has replaced the waterboarding of three captive Muslims for the anonymous fly over drone killings of terrorist, their families and the unfortunate neighbors of these enemy forces. He was critical of the Patriot Act but has intensify the attack on privacy and clandestined surveillance of the American people. He spoke out against Don't Ask, Don't Tell but has fooled around long enough that the courts will get the credit for the change of policy on this issue, not Obama.
No wonder Bush is so popular. Obama didn't deliver . . . . . . . . . except on the debt thingy.
