The weekly jobs numbers are out and they aren't good.

(5:52 am pst) New benefit applications rose to 465,000 after two weeks of decreasing numbers. Last week, the number of new applicants was 450,000. There is no greater single indicator of a continuing recession than this particular number. The release of this number occurs each Thursday morning. While Obama is telling anyone who is listening that "we are making headway," this weekly report has increased in terms of averages since the beginning of the year. The two positions are not compatible.
