First thoughts on Obama's 1 hour 18 minute news conference.

1. He gave praise to Christina Romer without a single thought on her parting admission that the Stimulus did not work AND that she did not understand why.

2. He complained about not getting his agenda passed in Congress without explaining why a wholly Democrat controlled legislature failed in this regard.

3. He mentioned his effort at including the jobless poor in the middle class via work, programs and distributive aid. . . . . . . in ignorance of the fact that there is only one way the poor can become members of the middle class and that is to work their way into the middle class.

4. He abandoned his criticism of Bush for not capturing Osama bin Laden. During the campaign, this was one of his most vocal criticisms. Turns out that was so much talk and nothing more and words in today's conference proves that point.

5. When asked about the wisdom of building a mosque 600 feet away from Ground Zero in celebration of the Muslim victory on 9/11. he only spoke to the constitutional right of the project. He mentioned the heart ache of the survivors of the September catastrophe but disallowed that heart ache from having any bearing in the construction of the Cordoba House.

6. He spent time explaining the financial "hole" he faced as an incoming president without mentioning the fact that he voted for every single Bush spending bill passed during his time as Senator. Obama did not inherit anything that he did not vote into existence.

7. He had no answers for the rising cost of health care. He told the audience that the 30 million brought into healthcare protection could not be done "for free." But, of course, we were told at the time of the healthcare debate that the inclusion of these 30 million would actually bring costs down. Turns out that was a preposterous lie.
