Finally, someone hits the nail on the head. Boehner says,"The system itself favors spending and needs to be reformed." No one else is saying this.

Boehner: House rules make spending too easy, cuts difficultHouse Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) will say House budget rules should be reformed to curb federal spending in an address at a conservative think-tank Friday. — The top-ranking House Republican will outline …

Editor's notes: can anyone think of anything that could be more critical to the concerns of the vast majority of Americans than this. It comes as a surprise to this editor, and what a pleasant surprise. Over the past 21 months, many of us have become students of the political process, for the first time. One thing most of us would agree to is this notion: the more we know , the more we realize that we don't know.

With the words of Boehner, above, it suddenly hits us between the eyes : the very structure of the congressional process favors continuing spending. This editor is no more a Republican than he is a Democrat. I watch with a certain concerned detachment. Because of the Boehner's (pronounced "Bay-ner) comment, I must say this:

I would vote Republican in the coming campaign because of the news embedded in the above headlined story, if for no other reason. If he is not serious, he is gone in two years, but, to my knowledge, Boehner is the first and only Congressional figure in either party making such a statement.

Good for him. Hope he is serious. Boehner will have more to say on this later today. Look for our update.
