Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
Obama a Christian? If a secular/existentialist can be a Christian, then "yes." What about Georetown ?
On the right is the stage at Georgetown University, a Roman Catholic college, with a dormer on stage. The light colored lettering in middle of that dormer are the letters IHS ("Jesus"). In the picture to the left - and we do mean Left - is our national pastor, the Rev. B.H. Obama, offering a commencement speech, but only after Georgetown officials complied with his order to cover over the letters, IHS - the name of 'Jesus.'
The White House defends this action - the covering of the name of Jesus - with Administration insistence that "all religious symbols" were to be covered, as if the order was a generic demand, not specific to the on-stage symbol.
Of course, they fail to note that the only on-stage symbol covered was "IHS." Midknight Review does not allow for a committed Christian to ever make such a requirement. This was a blasphemous requirement. Note that Obama has the camera set up with the dormer fully in view, making the "problem" of exposed Christian symbols even more of an issue. We see Obama's visit to Georgetown in terms of a conquest for the non-Christian element in this country. Darkness won on that day. But before Georgetown, this conquering pro-abortion freak visited Notre Dame and left that institution unchallenged by the liberal Catholic academics who have infected that campus. He is no friend of The Faith, despite the fact that we may see him suddenly attending Christian church services rather than playing golf on Sundays. He will fool no one with this adolescent response to the current criticisms. -- jds
