President or Renegade???

The judge current reviewing the Arizona law has made it clear that she is going to take down the controversial law, a a major major defeat for the Obama Administration.

A couple of thoughts:

Why Obama took his challenge to the Arizona law into the courts is beyond most who watch politics for a "living." The negative impact of losing in the courts at a time when the midterms are fast approaching, when Obama is far behind in every note worthy poll, would seem to be too great a risk to take at this time of year.
Once again, the Adolescent in our White House has proven to be a Political Freshman.

Secondly, there is the question of Obama's response to this embarrassing defeat. What will it be ? Bill Jacobson at le - gal in - sur - rec - tion has this opinion: My expectation is that if the ruling goes as currently expected, and the status check provision alone survives, the Obama administration will refuse to take into custody anyone who is turned over by Arizona authorities who is not already wanted for a crime or who was not picked up in the course of committing another crime. Call it nullification. Or better yet, willful disregard of the law. PERMALINK

We could not agree more. On so many levels, Obama has proven himself a law breaker with the power and position to escape prosecution. He arranged the violation of contract law when he took over GM; he encouraged the improper use of "reconciliation" during the healthcare fiasco; he has refused to honor his Constitutional duty in enforcing border law on the books since 1996; he has refused to prosecute "Sanctuary Cities" who are in violation of established Federal law; he has ordered the release of convicted New Black Muslims charged with voter intimidation; his Department of Justice has decided not to prosecute voter fraud cases; he has moved to violate the principle of the balance of powers, attempting to legislate by regulation, circumventing Congressional approval and oversight -- in this he has been directly defeated by court decisions on two occasion.

By anyone's standards, he is little more than a renegade with Federal power.
