A look at the jobs numbers versus the unemployment numbers and what do we have? A parallel universe and "parallel" is not good.

Editor's notes: the chart, below, shows the disconnect between available jobs (the green line) and the available work force (either orange or red lines but especially the red dotted line - the red line includes the orange representation plus those who are "underemployed" and is the more accurate number, for that reason).

The chart does not offer much encouragement for the observer. Total and real unemployment (charted with the red line) has more than doubled since May of '08. While there appears to be a down turn in the unemployment numbers, there seems to be a slight and corresponding down turn in the count of available jobs.

Point of this post: simply to present a visual demonstrating the seriousness of the jobs crisis. The consistent linear progressions of all three "lines" forecast a continued "jobless recovery" and puts off any serious recovery Main Street recovery for months, if not years, into the future.

As long as we have an Administration that believes unemployment benefits are the open door to jobs creation (Click on the PERMALINK for Pelosi theory on unemployment benefits and jobs creation), the recovery remains in serious trouble.
