American Idol News -- Its not "news" but it is Americana.

Clay Aiken, the runner-up to Ruben Studdard [season two], may be in the running for the replacement to Simon Cowell. Probably not, but Clay would be a better choice by far than names already mentioned including the clown, Perex Hilton, and Mr. Filth, Howard Stern.

It is our guess that the successor to Cowell's seat will be someone not even mentioned, to date.

So, what has happened to Clay Aiken after coming out of the closet AND becoming a single Dad? Well, we are not big on the gay thing but we do hope that he has continued his Christian faith. We do know that he put out his fifth album, Tried and True, on June 1 of this year. He and Studdard are in the first stages of planning a summer tour. Should be good.
