One final comment, here. Let's not forget that Obama and Company offered Sestack a position in the Administration if he would not run against Specter . . . . . . . a felony offense. Understand that this information came from Sestak, himself. He has been asked about this accusation on more than one occasion; each time he has verified its occurrence. Could this have played into Obama's desertion of Specter? You think ?!
Blumenthal vs Blumenthal : Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal was a "shoe-in" for the vacant Senate seat in a strong Democrat district. He was leading his strongest Republican opponent by 30 to 40 points, depending on the poll. Today, the media is carrying the story that Poor Richard was busy lying about time served in Viet Nam which was . . . . . . . . . . . none. But, Blumenthal has pretended to have been in Nam on a number of occasions. Add to this his claim of having been captain of the Harvard swim team. say what ?! Is there even a pool at Harvard, much less a swim team? Significance? This just might make that Senate seat a competitive contest for the GOP. There are 41 Republicans now serving in the Senate. Projections have 6 to 8 pick-up seats going to the GOP come November. The GOP needs a total of 10 to take control of the Senate. We will keep tabs of Mr. Blumenthal.
Update: while the radical Daily Kos (a Shepard Smith [FoxNews] favorite) has Blumenthal up by 20 points against his Republican opponent, here is Rasmussens polling numbers:
Rasmussen Reports | Blumenthal by [only] +3 |
Rand Paul wins by nearly 30 points in the Republican Kentucky primary. Big victory for the Tea Party influence. Dems think they can beat him. We say, let them try.
Mark Critz served the GOP their only disappointment for the the night. This was the seat vacated by the crook, John Murtha at his recent death. The GOP had hoped to win this seat, but the strength of the Democrat vote in the district was too much. The good news? No one had the Murtha Seat in the GOP strategy book, anyway. And the election is good only until this coming November. Understand, that while a Dem was victor against a Republican in this contest, Critz ran against Nancy Pelosi and the radical legislative pursuits of the Obama administration including the health care reform bill !! His appeal was to a conservative Democrat ideology and he won with this. Obama was nowhere to be seen.
Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln clung to a slim lead over Lt. Gov. Bill Halter. Neither received 50% of the vote, so there is a run-off scheduled for early summer. Our money is on Lincoln to win that run off but MoveOn.org and the Marxist, George Soros, have their money on Halter. Either way, the winner is 15 points behind the GOP candidate. Please note that Obama was nowhere to be seen in this election, as well. He demanded that Lincoln support healthcare but when it came to supporting she who carried his water during that time of legislative tyrany, he skipped out. "Missing in action" is not only the way he governs foreign affairs, it was his response to election night, May 18, 2010.
Ever wondered why Ron Paul, Rand's father, is not well liked within the GOP - including Rush, Hannity and Levin? Ron is a pacifist. He would not have gone into Iraq OR Afghanistan. He would withdraw from NATO and not cooperate the UN and he wants to shut down the Fed. Some of this is good but that which effects national defense is what separates Paul from the men. The problem for Midknight Review is this: "pacifism" and "Commander in Chief" are not compatible. While we might argue the value or morality of pacifism, we cannot argue the fact that the American President IS the Commander of one of the best armies in the history of mankind. A debate about the President and pacifism is inappropriate if not wrong headed.
