Alert !! Dems may sneak health care through Congress using "reconciliation."

At Bloomberg, there is a news story informing us that there may be plans to pass health care through the Senate via the very dishonest process of reconciliation. Rather than asking for a final floor vote which needs a 60 vote majority, the Dems may be planning to use "reconciliation" which demands only 51 votes. Reconciliation is reserved for bills already passed into law but in need of added amendments. If this procedure is used, health care will be attached the Stimulus bill.

The Senate has treated the health care bill as its own bill until now. Suddenly, there is talk of attaching it to another bill. Why? BECAUSE, THEY HAVE FAILED TO GET THE JOB DONE BEHIND CLOSED DOORS OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST 3 WEEKS. We all heard the reports this morning: "Break through !!! Congress on verge of unifying the House and Senate bills." Apparently, this was not true. Democrats have released such headlines before - several times over the course of the past year. They decided to release that headline again, this morning, and by the end of the day, it has proven to be another misstatement.

What does this mean? Democrats do not have the 60 votes they need in the Senate to call for a final vote!!!! Members of their own party have backed off - apparently. Midknight Review believes that some are looking to what has already happened in Massachusetts. That race was never supposed to be any closer than a 20 point margin. Two months ago, the Democrat candidate was up by 30 points running for a seat that has been in the Democrat camp since 1952. There are Democrats who understand just how important the Massachusetts situation is to the larger political picture. If the Dems cannot win the 2nd most secure Senate seat in the Nation, next to Pelosi's, all Democrats are in trouble, no ??!!

Another consideration is that of stated promises. In the Senate, there are those who pledged not to support a final bill that does not have a "public option." In the House, the much forgotten House of Representatives, there are some 40 prolife Democrats who have pledged to defeat the bill if it comes back to them with their anti-abortion language changed. Apparently, it has been changed. Pelosi and Reid have ignored these problems from the very beginning. Now, they have come back to haunt them.

Look, there is something seriously wrong, here, This Congress, with its super-majorities in BOTH houses, has taken nearly a full year dealing with health care reform and has not put it into the form of law. We are not being told the truth. The Marxist leadership does not want anyone to know there are major divisions within their party - but, after a year, what are we to think?

Many of us are beginning to believe that health care reform the Marxist way, will not happen.
