Wacko Alert: California has banned lead ammo used for hunting for fear of lead poisoning in the consumption of fish and game . . . . . . . something that has never, ever, happened in the history of the state.

Speaking of California's decision to ban lead bullets for hunting:

The only good news in all this is found in the fact that the law will not be fully implemented until July of 2019 and will not effect,  or should not,  effect ammo sales for at least a year.  Further,  it limits hunters, and is not an across the board ban on lead ammo  . . . . . . or so we are told.   Regardless,  we have plenty of time to stock up.

To illustrate just how wacko the environmentalists in California have become in defending this idiot's decision,  the following report (below) makes this statement:  "Supporters say the use of lead bullets not only endangers wildlife but also puts people who eat game killed with the ammunition at risk."

Understand that this is simply so much chunky-style barnyard  (aka bulls..t).  No one has ever gotten sick from eating game killed by bullets  . . . .   never.  No one has ever gotten sick living in homes painted with lead-based paint,  or in schools featuring asbestos ceiling tiles.  That is why homes built before 1978 and schools with asbestos ceiling tiles are allowed to be occupied until they are replaced. Heck,  I am 68 and grew up in such homes and attended such schools all of my childhood life.  No one,  absolutely no one,  ever got sick or died.   It is all so much bogus, unscientific crap,  and "they" criticize the Right for being "enemies of science."  What a load.

SACRAMENTO — California has become the first state to ban lead ammunition for all types of hunting after Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation today.
The Democratic governor said in a signing message that lead ammunition poses a threat to wildlife, noting that California has prohibited it in eight counties within the condors' range since 1997.
"I am concerned, however, the impression left from this bill is that hunters and sportsmen and women in California are not conservationists," Brown wrote. "I know that is not the case. Hunters and anglers are the original conservationists."

He said the ban would be fully implemented by July 1, 2019, and that the bill protects hunters by allowing the ban to be lifted if the federal government ever prohibits non-lead ammo.

Opponents of AB711 argued that non-lead ammunition is more expensive and could be banned federally because it is technically considered to be armor-piercing. The California Fish and Game Wardens' Association last week urged Brown to veto the bill, saying there is insufficient data to justify a statewide ban.

Three environmental groups — the Humane Society of the United States, Defenders of Wildlife and Audubon California — sponsored the bill. Supporters say the use of lead bullets not only endangers wildlife but also puts people who eat game killed with the ammunition at risk.
