McCain whines about conservative pressures and, in so doing, proves himself an enemy of the conservative caucus and a stalwart for the Status Quo.

Speaking on Senate floor on Thursday,  May 23,  an angry member of the RINO Caucus,  John McCain (R-Ariz.) scolded Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) , a teaparty favorite,  over his [Lee’s] objection to initiating House-Senate private budget negations.  Clearly,  McCain has given up on negotiating for a balanced budget and is more concerned with “getting things done”  than “getting things done right.”

McCain publicly complained:  “The senator from Utah keeps talking about back-room, closed-door deals.  How do we reconcile legislation that is passed by one body and the other body? That’s what we’ve been doing for a couple hundred years”  as if back room deals are sanctioned by historic process simply because “we have always done it this way.”

McCain continued in his typical and insulting manner of speech:  “Perhaps the senator from Utah doesn’t know about  . . .   the fact that even if they did raise the debt limit, it could not become law because it doesn’t go to the president of the United States.  So again, maybe the senator from Utah ought to learn a little bit more about how business has been done in the Congress of the United States.”

Perhaps we should thank the loser from Arizona,  for his stale and feckless leadership “on the issues,”  as he works tirelessly to destroy the effectiveness of the conservative grassroots influence in Washington. But the fact remains,  that the GOP has failed to stem the tide of Progressive Advance precisely because of the compromised leadership of men such as John McCain.  Unless the McCain’s of this world are put in their place,  the GOP will never win another national election.  Conservatives are done with this aged clown and the compromising leadership he represents.  We only wait for his retirement.
