How smart is it to make a public announcement against Egypt Mubarak when he, Obama, has no clue as to who will rise to power in Mubarak's place.
But, hey, that is the way the Skinny One governs, isn't it. I mean, in this country he is shutting down coal mining and moving this nation to a green energy economy 40 to 70 years before we are structurally ready to make that transition.
In the case of Egypt, it is clear that Obama has no concern for whatever might happen to Israel in all this.
I rather think the Egyptian Crisis will settle down without too much harm being down. I do not believe the military in Egypt will allow radical Islam to take over the current rebellion. Egypt has had 30 years of peaceful secular rule. The women are educated and free. A significant percentage of those in the streets are under 35 years of age. I do not see these folks embracing Sharia Law or a hate filled radical Muslim manifestation.
And I still think that Obama's haste at publicly rejecting Mubarak was calculated and poorly timed. He might "get away with it" but only if the transition government is dedicated to peace with Israel and open to interchange of religious ideas and expressions of faith -- as is currently the case.
