Ryan uses the word "defend" but really means "support." He was NEVER going to support Trump.

Paul Ryan told GOP lawmakers he wouldn't 'defend' Trump after 'Access Hollywood' tape: book

Editor:  Look,  if you think Ryan had a change of heart regarding Trump,  after the Access Hollywood tape,  you are dreaming.  He and Romney ran one of the worst presidential campaigns in history,  next to McCain's joke of an effort.  Neither McCain nor Romney nor Ryan ever planned on supporting Trump   . . . .   the Access Hollywood tape has little to do with his decision except to give him (Ryan) an excuse.

Which is worse,  to lie to an entire constituency (Ryan started lying the moment he was sworn in as Speaker), or, to pretend that he has principles that allowed him to function as an independent moralist?  Turns out that he,  Romney,  John Boehner,  John McCain, and other Statists want Trump stopped,  but not for the same reasons driving the Democrats.  Makes no difference.  In the end,  it all amounts to a rebellion against the voters   . . . . .   all 63 million of us.
