The search has covered an area as large as the State of Indiana. Why does the search continue for two boys lost at sea for 4 days anbd counting?

To answer the question in our headline:  Because they have life-preservers,  a wooden cover from the boats engine compartment that could be used as a buoy,  and (maybe) food in an ice chest.
