Obama is in a fight against the Pope and religious freedom of expression. Maybe he should take a pill and get off his high horse.

Pope John Paul made it impossible for the Catholic Church to comply with the secular orders of Barack Obama.  It is written in stone.  

(6) RESPECTING RIGHTS OF CONSCIENCE WITH REGARD TO SPECIFIC ITEMSOR SERVICES.—

(A) FOR HEALTH PLANS.—A health plan shall not be considered to have failed to provide the essential health benefits package described in subsection (a) (or preventive health services described in section 2713 of the Public Health Service Act), to fail to be a qualified health plan, or to fail to fulfill any other requirement under this title on the basis that it declines to provide coverage of specific items or services because—

Catholic Church is concerned. 

(i) providing coverage (or, in the case of a sponsor of a group health plan, paying for coverage) of such specific items or services is contrary to the religious beliefs or moral convictions of the sponsor, issuer, or other entity offering the plan; or

(ii) such coverage (in the case of individual coverage) is contrary to the religious beliefs or moral convictions of the purchaser or beneficiary of the coverage.

Editor's Notes:  this has never been about women's health.  It has always been about the rights of conscience  -  a historic and time-honor concept that allows for the separation of church and state in a positive way as stated this wise:  

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

Such appears straight-forward enough.  Without the conscience law,  Congress can dictate to the dictates of a particular faith,  and that is coming form the dictator,  himself. 

Something that most do not know;  the prohibition against contraception was embedded in an encyclical dated 1995.

With this encyclical,  the Catholic Church is obligated to resist contraception and abortion in any form per an edict from the Pope.  The Church has no choice in this matter.  When Church leaders tell us they will neither observe the law nor pay any fines,  they are acting on papal authority.  Such was never a problem before.  Obama has made it a problem and for nefarious reasons in view of the fact that contraception and free contraception is free or extremely cheap in all American cities.  

The long and short of all this is the fact that Obama is simply being a secular jerk.  He is protecting nothing on the part of women and stands in direct violation of the Constitutional law . . . . . .  period.
