Benjamin Colton Barnes, 24, is being sought in the shooting of four people at a New Year's party and the fatal shooting of a park ranger in Mount Rainier National Park (Washington State) later in day.
Park Ranger Margaret Anderson, was shot at or around 10:30 a.m. after setting up a roadblock to stop Barnes as he fled from another park ranger in pursuit.
She was parked across the road and was shot to death as she sat in her vehicle. She was not armed.
A 90 minute shoot-out took place immediately afterwards, involving Pierce County SWAT members and Barnes. Barnes was able to escape into the forest.
This was Sunday morning. As I write, it is Monday morning, and this Iraqi soldier, a trained suvivalist, is armed and very dangerous, running from the law. He remains within Park boundaries.
The park ranger he murdered, was a mother of two. No one shot in the first incidence was fatally wounded, according to early reports.
