Washington State Republican, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers moderated a “Women’s CEO Panel on Jobs and the Economy” on Monday, where The Daily Caller spoke to her about the European Union debt crisis.
Editor’s notes: apparently, our presidents can give away as much money as they deem necessary and no one in Congress can stop them. That is at the heart of Rep. Rodgers’ complaint.
Over the past three years, one thing we have all learned is this: our entire national well being is really in the hands of
1. unelected regulators,
2. the president who has enough legal powers to function as if a dictator, fully capable of avoiding congressional approval or inquest,
3. the Speaker of the House and the Senate’s Majority leader – people who can decide to “table” any and all legislative proposals they do not like,
4. the head of the Federal Exchange (currently, Ben Bernanke),
5. and, a host of unknown and unnamed financiers in this country and Europe.
The rest of us really do not count for much, and that includes our Courts. Our only control is found in the ballot box, and that influence can be huge if, and only if, the public is informed and alternative leadership is willing to serve.
Just to be clear: Representative Rodgers is admitting that Congress has no power over the president short of impeachment. He can -- and is – doing whatever pleases him. Obama is running wild, using his executive powers along with the Marxist/Progressives in the various regulatory agencies, to side-step Congress completely as he single-handedly pushes forward an agenda the vast majority of the electorate does not want.
