Who knows. maybe 10 or 15 years from now, we just might have more nuclear energy on line.

The notion that Obama opposes domestic Nuclear energy is not exactly true. From StateLine, we have this developing story. Understand that Nuclear plant permits take about 6 years to finalize if they are approved at all. Allow another 4 years for construction. --- jds

Nuclear power makes a quiet comeback in the states

After shunning nuclear power for decades, legislatures around the country are warming to it as a way to address the nation’s increasing demand for electricity. In states such as Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota and Wisconsin, where bans on new plants are in place, lawmakers are trying to open the door to new reactors. Although none of their efforts has succeeded yet, that hasn’t stopped some energy analysts from talking about a “nuclear renaissance.”


Editor's notes: As you can see, the trend to "nuclear" is an uphill battle and it is not known the extent to which Obama favors this effort. We do know, however, that he has set aside 8 billion for nuclear plant construction. Understand that while "8 billion" sounds like a lot of money, it does not cover the costs of two nuclear plants. With that in mind, Obama's allocation is but a pittance -- the story of this man's life.
