In Obama's State of the Union Address, he revealed that he had proposed taking $30 billion from the TARP fund and giving it to small banks in an effort to jump start small business lending.
Two things:
First, the TARP bill was for use in toxic assest recovery AND NOTHING MORE. That is the language of bill. When that money was recovered, it was to go against the national debt. As it turns out, not a single penny of this money went to toxic assets recover -- not a penny and the Obama people consider TARP to be thier personal "slush fund," to be used without accountability or approval from Congress.
Secondly, this is not the first time Obama has "set aside" monies for small business lending. In an ABC News article, it has been revealed that in March of 2009, Obama made a similar proposal; $15 billion for small business lending. The problem with this proposal is found in the fact that the money was never spent (!!!) raising questions about Obama's true feelings regarding sm all business. According to the ABC article, this second proposal has no supporting plan, no details for distribution . . . . no nothing.
We need to understand that Obama is a thorough going Bolshevikian governor. That is to say that he is not a Constitutional Parlimentarian. He cares nothing for the separation of powers or the resulting Congressional process. Social Justice as embraced by the Obama's is nothing more than the "drawing in" of the court system, a reshaping of the legal system that finds it supporting the legislative desires of the Ruling Class.
The point of this post is to expose the divide that exists between the current Marxist Administration and the historicity of a nation and its economy that is the greatest in the history of the world. Mr. Obama has decided that it is time to rewrite accepted Constitutional values and prohibitions -- something that NONE of us voted for and the larger majority has rejected.
A second purpose of this post is to expose the "smoke and mirrors" treatment of the American people -- something Obama uses as a course of political process. . . . . telling us one thing and doing something else. If he really wanted to help small business, he would have done so back in March, he would have honored his own words rather than making a promises he never intended to fulfill. We are all tired of that nonsense. We need leadership not rhetoric, we honesty, not claims of transparency, we need to be listened to not told to "sit down and shut up."
Understand that small business has fears of taking money from an Obama controlled world, fearing a claim by the Administration that they now own a part of their small business world. That is exactly what he did with the auto and banking industries. He took them over via circumventing Congress and/or through demands attached to their acceptance of governmental funding. In accepting funds from the Administration, does small business place itself in the same circumstance that has proven to be anti-American and detrimental to other categories of the business world? What current set of rights will be lost if small business accepts federally sponsored funds?
Small business owners must deal with such questions, whether this new proposal goes the way of the March fantasy or not -- jds
