Sanctuary Cities: And why Establishment politicians are not to be trusted - including G.W. Bush. Includes most current list on net.

Sanctuary Cities as of September of 2011 by J Smithson
In 2007, Human Events ran a list of sanctuary cities. That list had 31 cities. Our has 47, if I counted correctly. The first such city was in 1989 (San Francisco - of course), but the real growth of these illegitimate townships occurred under the last years of Clinton/Bush and facilitated under Obama. I expect an anarchist stance from the likes of Obama, but not from G.W., yet, that was the case.
The fact that there are Republicans who support the rule of lawlessness in this regard, is most disappointing and the part of the reason why the T.E.A. party folks have developed a serious animus for Establishment politicians in both parties.
The fact that George Bush was involved in this process, as well as Affordable Housing agenda (that all had a "right" to own their own homes) and passed through the "abortion pill," RU 486, is proof positive that Establishment Conservatives cannot be trusted. They can either go on "on the record" or drop dead. A consistent conservative legislative record would help, as well.

Many cities are "sanctuary"by "de facto" -- a policy of "don't ask, don't tell" that makes the creation of an accurate and comprehensive list almost impossible.

Better known sanctuary cities . . . . .

  • In a Congressional Research Report, we learn that legislation was created by the Marxist legislator, Sheila Jackson, to forbid reprisals against sanctuary communities, whether state or city,

    S. 95, introduced by
Senator David Vitter, would prohibit any funds appropriated for the Community Oriented
Policing Services Program from being used in contravention of IIRIRA § 642. H.R. 264, the Save
America Comprehensive Immigration Act of 2009, introduced by Representative Sheila JacksonLee, would repeal IIRIRA § 642 and PRWORA § 434, thereby permitting states and localities to restrict the sharing of immigration-related information with federal authorities. (Source: CR report, p 4)

    2. Good to hear from you, again. And "yes," Newt is included. He is most definitely an Establishment Republican and there are many conservatives not all that happy with his candidacy. I certainly remember his tenure as Speaker. My first choice is Sarah Palin. My second choice is Paul Ryan followed by Senator Marco Rubio, Mitch Daniels (Indiana's retiring governor), but none of these will happen to this country, this year.
I don’t know if you have been reading this blog, of late, but I have given equal time in my posted rants to the Establishment GOP, including President Bush.
