Thursday morning,
8:30 am eastern time, first time claim numbers will be released,
and, Friday, the Feds will publish the unemployment numbers for the
month of September.
Remember last week?
We jumped from the creation of around 120,000 new jobs for the
month, to a whopping 873,000 jobs. We called this for what it
was, "an impossible lie!!," just in time for the election.
Well, how times have changed in just seven days.
ADP, the firm that
prepares the unemployment numbers for the Feds, each month, is
joining itself to a partnership with Moody's Analytics, beginning now.
The accuracy of this new accounting partnership will be on display,
beginning tomorrow. I believe the Department of Labor so disqualified
itself as a reporting institution, that this change was a necessity. It
only surprises me as to the quickness of the adjustment.
Thursday and Friday should be full of a whole
new world of economic trick or treat. Should be a hoot.
NY Times goes off the deep end as it attempts to criiticize Romney for injecting commonsence into a discussion on federal emergency aid.
In a ridiculous article, an editorial, if you will, found in the NYT's Monday edition, entitled "Big Storm Requires Big Government," the big spenders at the Times chastised the GOP and Mitt Romney for their opposition to an increased role on the part of FEMA and the Federal Government.
Disaster coordination is one of the most vital functions of “big government,” which is why Mitt Romney wants to eliminate it. [and this editor says, Huh???] At a Republican primary debate last year, Mr. Romney was asked whether emergency management was a function that should be returned to the states. He not only agreed, he went further.
“Absolutely,” he said. “Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that’s the right direction. And if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that’s even better.” Mr. Romney not only believes that states acting independently can handle the response to a vast East Coast storm better than Washington, but that profit-making companies can do an even better job. He said it was “immoral” for the federal government to do all these things if it means increasing the debt.
It’s an absurd notion, but it’s fully in line with decades of Republican resistance to federal emergency planning. FEMA, created by President Jimmy Carter, was elevated to cabinet rank in the Bill Clinton administration, but was then demoted by President George W. Bush, who neglected it, subsumed it into the Department of Homeland Security, and placed it in the control of political hacks. The disaster of Hurricane Katrina was just waiting to happen.
Understand that none of the above review presents that which is problematic, in and of itself. FEMA did not exist before Jimmy Carter, and we all got along just fine. Katrina was not a problem resulting from slow response times centered at the federal level, but was the fault of a wholly dysfunctional Louisiana State system and an idiot's form of governance at the local (City of New Orleans) level, period.
As it turns out, "coordination" and [borrowed] monies" are all the feds have to offer in such cases. Not only are the several states different in their demands for reconstruction and prevention, in most cases these very differences are, first, neighborhood and community differences, then state issues.
Understand that emergency aid is never an issue of the budget. Such expenditures are never counted against the typical view of the national debt. That way, a particular Administration is not charged with such. While this arrangement is fair to the particular Administration, it leaves us with a confused and inaccurate view of our debt.
At any rate, you should know that a Mitt Romney Administration will be as concerned about the cost of true emergencies as the next Administration.
In case of a hurricane, we will leave no American behind. When it comes to our soldiers, who gives a rip?

The “Bin Laden” donations, actually made by WND staff, included a
listed occupation of “deceased terror chief” and a stated employer of
“al-Qaida.”

UPDATE: Labor Department ‘Working Hard’ to Ensure Jobs
Report Released on Time.
Remarkable. The Department of Labor may have come up with
the perfect excuse for delaying the economic bad news for September.
Understand
that Obama changed the narrative as
regards unemployment and re-election. In late 2009, Conservatives were reminding folks that no
sitting president has been re-elected to a second term with unemployment at 7.2% or higher, since the days of FDR. While that is true, the Obama folks, masters of the rhetorical shell game, changed the narrative to read, “No sitting president has been re-elected
with an unemployment rate of 8% or higher,
since the days of FDR,” and the
lazy media allowed this to become the accepted talking point.
Two
months ago, the unemployment rate stood
at 8.3%. In July, suddenly that rate fell to 8.1% when all
indicators for the month told us the rate would be 8.4 or 8.5 percent, on the strength of the fact that 44 of the 50
states recorded increased unemployment numbers.
August
was even worse for purposes of rhetorical
fraud. On the first Friday of
September, Labor announced the addition
of 873,000, the largest such report in
30 years. 600,000 of these jobs were part time and 200, 000 were temporary jobs. In other words, that report was a sham. It brought the unemployment
rate down from 8.1 to the magic number of 7.8 percent. No one believed these numbers were credible. But the Administration immediately began using the report in its campaign propaganda.
After two months of phony reporting, it is time for a correction. Problem: today, we learn that the Department may put this off until after the election.
Has the "perfect storm" given the Administration the "perfect excuse?" We will know come this Friday.

Mitt Romney gained a point over President Obama, according to a
Gallup daily tracking poll released Monday, and now holds a healthy
5-percentage-point national lead.
Romney took 51 percent support in the poll of likely voters,
compared to 46 percent for Obama.
The GOP nominee also pulled even with Obama among registered
voters, 48 percent to 48, after trailing by a point on Sunday.

A very significant poll is out, this morning, and it is very good news for the American patriot -- Romney 52, Obama 47.
The bipartisan Battleground Poll, in its “vote election
model,” is projecting that Mitt Romney will defeat President Obama 52 percent
to 47 percent. The poll also found that Romney has an even greater
advantage among middle class voters, 52 percent to 45 percent.
While Obama can close the gap with a strong voter turnout
effort, “reports from the field would indicate that not to be the case, and
Mitt Romney may well be heading to a decisive victory,” says pollster Ed Goeas.
Should Romney win by 5 percentage points, it would increase
Republican chances of gaining control of the Senate. His coattails would
help elect GOP Senate candidates in Virginia, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania,
and Florida. “Republicans are now certain to hold the House,” Goeas said,
“regardless of how the presidential race turns out" . . . . . . . . . The Weekly Standard
Eight Days and counting: Is Obama running out of time? Are we looking at an electorate making its final decision as to the future of this country?
On our first chart, make note of a very important
change, potentially, in the expressed dynamics of the two trend
lines. For starters, the "mirrored" result of the two lines seem to indicate an existential relationship between the
ratings of the two men. If that is the case, how Romney
finishes out his campaign is more important than what Obama does.
Secondly, understanding that "trend lines"
are never consistently linear, the "bounce" in the two lines is
noticeably more consistent (smaller), less volatile in the vertical movement (up
and down), indicating an electorate that is settling in who it believes is the more preferable candidate.

The Gallup daily tracking poll of likely voters released on October
26 shows Mr. Romney leading Barack Obama 51% to 46%. Mr. Romney holds the lead
in the nine elections since 1936 in which either an incumbent president was
defeated or there was no incumbent. Tied for second are Mr. Obama (2008) and
George H.W. Bush (1992) with 50% at this point in the race, followed by John F.
Kennedy (1960), Jimmy Carter (1980) and George W. Bush (2000) with 49%, Dwight
D. Eisenhower with 48% (1952), Richard M. Nixon with 44% (1968), Bill Clinton
with 40% (1992) and finally Ronald Reagan who actually trailed Jimmy Carter in
1980 with 39% to Carter’s 45%.
Mr. Romney is even competitive with some victorious
incumbents. Mr. Romney is tied with Presidents Eisenhower (1956) and
George W. Bush (2004) in their reelection bids, he is ahead of where FDR was in
1940 and 1944, and far ahead of Bill Clinton’s 40% at this point in 1996. Mr.
Romney also leads Harry Truman, who at 41% trailed challenger Thomas Dewey by
four points. But he is being well outpaced by victors in the blowout elections
of 1936, 1964, 1972 and 1984. Presidents Roosevelt, Johnson, Nixon and Reagan
won handily -- their challengers won a combined total of 10 states.

A group of ex-soldiers are buying TV ads attacking President Barack Obama that will run during the first showing of a pro-Obama movie created by his Hollywood backers.
The made-for-TV movie, “Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden,” is slated to run Nov. 4 on the National Geographic Channel. It was produced by Obama supporter and mega-donor Harvey Weinstein.
Weinstein reportedly ordered that the film be re-edited to give Obama a central role in directing the daring raid that successfully killed Osama bin Laden. Weinstein’s movie is so pro-Obama that National Geographic refused to run until Weinstein removed a scene portraying Gov. Mitt Romney as an opponent of the strike.

Gallup releases bombshell survey of likely voters for this November.
This morning, Gallup released a bombshell survey of likely voters this November. It wasn’t a horse race poll, i.e. which candidate is ahead, but rather a look at the underlying demographics that will make up the electorate this November. They slap the survey with a very misleading headline, “2012 U.S. Electorate Looks Like 2008.” While this is true in many respects, it obscures one very big difference. For the first time in a presidential election, more Republicans will vote than Democrats.
In 2008, 54% of likely voters identified as Democrat or lean Democrat. 42% of likely voters identified as GOP or lean GOP. In other words, the electorate, including independents who lean towards a particular party, was D+12. This year, however, the Democrat advantage has disappeared. 49% of likely voters today identify as GOP or lean GOP. Just 46% of likely voters are or lean towards the Democrats. This is a 15-point swing towards the GOP from 2008 to an outright +3 advantage for the GOP. By comparison, in 2004, when Bush won reelection, the electorate was evenly split, with each party getting support from 48% of likely voters.

(CNSNews.com) – The number of American workers collecting federal disability insurance benefits hit yet another record high in October, according to the Social Security Administration.
This month 8,803,335 disabled workers are collecting benefits, up from the previous record of 8,786,049 set in September.
In February 2009, the first full month after President Barack Obama took office, there were 7,469,240 workers collecting federal disability insurance. Thus, so far in Obama’s term, the number of workers collecting disability has increased by 1,334,095. That works out to a net increase of about 29,646 per month (1,334,095 divided by 45 months), or an average increase of about 975 per day (1,334,095 divided by 1,369 days).
Editor's notes:
Add 46.7 million folks on food stamps, and we have a sad a situation. Understand that Obama counts these numbers into building the middle class "from the middle out, from the bottom up." It is nothing short of "trickle down economics," but without any sense of personal responsibility.
Of the 780,000 jobs added to the economy, last month, a full 630,000 are temporary and very lowing paying jobs. Obama has no plan for adding to middle class wealth via jobs and hard work; never has he had such a plan.
And, if Romney can do no better in four years, we can and should kick his Administration back onto the streets as well.

Americans will be making two choices when they cast their presidential ballots on Nov. 6. They will be selecting the individual who will lead the nation over the next four years, a period that promises to be every bit as challenging as the past four. They also will be charting a long-term course for America.
It's a big deal decision between two honorable men with starkly different roadmaps.
President Barack Obama came into office in 2009 riding a wave of hope and change. Unfortunately, he has not delivered on the nation's yearning for change nor on the specific promises he made to fix what is broken. The president is asking the country to be patient, but his plan isn't producing results that would merit more patience, and the president hasn't spelled out what he would do differently in a second term.
Hope and change are still what Americans are seeking. This time, Republican challenger and Michigan native Mitt Romney offers the best hope of changing the nation's fate.
Romney brings credible plan
We anticipate that Romney will govern in the
same manner as Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, a practical leader who shares his
background as a business executive.Snyder has rapidly set Michigan on the path to revival by
Also like Snyder, we find Romney to be less partisan than the typical politician, and not bound by rigid ideology. The nation will be best served if the entrenched disagreements of the past four years give way to cooperation and achievement.
We are confident that Romney will be focused on the bottom line, and will divert the United States from "the road to Greece," as he's said on the campaign trail.
Hard choices to
The Keynesian approach has not worked. Despite an $830 billion stimulus and increased annual spending, the economic recovery is the weakest in post-World War II history. Investors remain on the sidelines, afraid to put their money into job creating projects because of the uncertainty about future tax and regulatory policy.
Romney's five-point plan for economic revival centers on energy independence, a goal that is finally achievable thanks to the natural gas boom and development of the Canadian oil sands; a better trained work force; trade that increases the demand for American goods and services; debt and deficit reduction and promoting the growth of small businesses. If implemented in urgent fashion, we believe the plan will work.
Romney would simplify the tax code and create a regulatory environment that works to protect consumers and assure a fair marketplace, but doesn't place the regulators in control of every private sector decision.
A solid resume
As a venture capitalist, the ability to make a
deal was the key to Romney's success. He understands that most deals begin with
the parties in adversarial positions but must end with them both satisfied that
they've got as much as they've given.What's missing in Washington is that willingness to move toward a middle ground. This all-or-nothing attitude has resulted in the inexcusable failure for three years of the president and Congress to pass a budget, a gridlock that has thwarted bipartisan solutions to the debt and deficit, and has now placed the country on the edge of a frightening fiscal cliff.
That's not leadership.
Romney has been an effective leader his entire career, both in business and politics. As governor of Massachusetts, he worked with a Democratic legislature to produce difficult health care and education reforms. We are optimistic he can restore the art of compromise to Washington.
He lifted the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics out of a desperate financial hole and turned the games into a successful enterprise.
As a businessman, he established a reputation as a turnaround expert, rescuing failed companies and returning them to profitability, allowing them to create jobs and economic opportunity for their communities. The federal bureaucracy is nothing if not a turnaround project.
Aside from his sterling resume, we also see in Romney a strength of character. He's his own man. We doubt he will be led off course by those who place party ahead of the good of the country. In Monday night's final presidential debate, Romney passed the commander-in-chief test, demonstrating a level-headed view of foreign affairs.
Thank Obama for auto rescue
Don't assume that it was a no-brainer for a
conservative newspaper to endorse a conservative presidential candidate. We
recognize and are grateful for the extraordinary contribution President Obama
made to Michigan in leading the rescue of General Motors and Chrysler. Had
either of those companies been allowed to go under, Michigan's economic
maladies would have become fatal.The president stepped up with the support the two automakers needed to keep themselves and their suppliers in business. We have said in past editorials that while Romney rightly advocated for structured bankruptcies in his infamous "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" New York Times op-ed, he was wrong in suggesting the automakers could have found operating capital in the private markets. In that article, Romney suggested government-backed loans to keep the companies afloat post bankruptcy. But what GM and Chrysler needed were bridge loans to get them through the process, and the private credit markets were unwilling to provide them. Obama put a rescue team to work and they were true to the task.
We have criticized Obama in past editorials for rewriting bankruptcy law on the fly to hold harmless his supporters in the United Auto Workers union. Still, Michigan is better off today because of Obama's leadership on this issue.
Had Obama done as well with the rest of the economy, it would be hard to deny him a second term.
But Obama said himself in a midterm television interview that if by the end of his first term the economy was still broken, he should not be re-elected.
Well, the economy is still broken, and we have lost confidence in the president's ability to make the necessary repairs.
Despite his wrong-headedness on the auto bailout, we believe Romney when he proclaims himself a "car guy." And he is indeed a son of Detroit, having grown up in the automobile industry. His father, George Romney, was the head of American Motors before becoming governor of Michigan.
Romney understands the industry, and will shield it from regulators who never tire of churning out new layers of mandates. It is important to remember that the automobile industry is never truly "saved;" there are always new challenges. Romney will be an advocate for Detroit, and if he can make the overall economy stronger, Michigan and the automakers will benefit greatly.
The course of a nation
As we said, this is more than a choice between
two individuals. America is locked in a struggle over what it will be as a
mature nation.A country built on rugged individualism finds itself increasingly under the thumb of a federal government that is ever expanding its reach into the lives of its citizens.
Obama has proved himself a disciple of the doctrine that for every problem there's a government solution.
Romney, by contrast, embraces individual initiative and entrepreneurship. He would turn back the encroachment of the bureaucracy into the private sector.
Romney would replace the heavy hand of government with the invisible hand of a rational marketplace working to produce broad prosperity.
While both poverty and dependency have increased on Obama's watch, Romney promises to replace government checks with private sector jobs and reverse the decline in middle class incomes. It is heavy lifting, but we favor the candidate who is committed to it.
Romney's goal is to help all Americans live independent and productive lives, free to rise to the extent of their personal capabilities. He would not shield them from risk or the consequences of their decisions, but neither would he deny them their earned rewards.
Our hope is that Mitt Romney would restore faith in the core principles of free men and women, free minds and free markets that made America great, and will keep it so.

Malala,
who spoke against the Taliban, was shot in the head on October 9, 2012.
The
police identified Atta Ullah Khan, a 23-year-old man from the Swat
district, as the primary suspect.
The police said they were tracing down Khan,
who was a student of a master’s degree in chemistry. He had studied for his Bachelor of Science degree in physics at Jahanzeb College
in Swat.
The
school’s principal, Alam Zeb, said that Khan had given school officials three
or four dates of birth. While condemning the attack, Zeb said that he was
surprised to hear that a former student of the college may have been involved.
In
addition to arresting six men — all of them from Swat – the police also
arrested Khan’s mother, brother and fiancée, CNN reported.
A senior official told CNN that the suspect’s relatives were not
accused of involvement.
The
official did clarify Khan’s role in the shooting.
Malala had come under attack when she was on
her way home from school. The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesperson
Eshanullah Ehsan had claimed that the militant group was behind the attack.

Biden decides to crack funny with the father of murdered Navy Seal member, Tyrone Woods. Dad is insulted. No apologies from Biden or Obama.
The father of one
of the former Navy SEALs killed in the terrorist attack on the U.S. mission in
Benghazi, Libya says President Barack Obama wouldn't even look him in the eye
and Vice President Joe Biden was disrespectful during the ceremony when his son’s
body returned to America. He also says the White House’s story on the attack doesn't pass the smell test.
Charles Woods,
father of Tyrone Woods, called into “The Glenn Beck Program” on TheBlazeTV
Thursday and recounted his interactions with the president, Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton and Biden at the ceremony for the Libya victims at Andrews Air
Force Base in Maryland. He told host Glenn Beck that what they told him,
coupled with new reports that indicate the Obama administration knew very good and well, almost
immediately, that a terrorist attack was occurring in Benghazi, make him
certain that the American people are not getting the whole truth.
Vice President Biden, as he has become known to do,
reportedly made a wildly inappropriate comment to the father who had just lost
his hero son.
Woods said Biden
came over to his family and asked in a “loud and boisterous” voice, “Did your son always have
balls the size of cue balls ?”
“Are these the words of someone who is sorry?” said Woods.
Planned Parenthood loses. Its not about free speech so much as it is about our tax dollars.
(Reuters) – A federal appeals court declined on Thursday to reconsider a ruling that would allow Texas to withhold funding for women’s healthcare from Planned Parenthood’s clinics because the organization also performs abortions.
Texas Governor Rick Perry said after the order by the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans that the state would immediately stop paying program participants that are affiliates of abortion providers.
“Today’s ruling affirms yet again that in Texas the Women’s Health Program has no obligation to fund Planned Parenthood and other organizations that perform or promote abortion,” the Republican governor said in a statement. “In Texas we choose life, and we will immediately begin defunding all abortion affiliates to honor and uphold that choice.”
A three-judge panel of the appeals court ruled in August that Texas may exclude groups affiliated with abortion providers from the Women’s Health Program, which provides cancer screenings, birth control and other health services to more than 100,000 low-income Texas women.
In a filing with the court in September, Planned Parenthood asked the full court to rehear the matter, saying the rule violates its First Amendment rights to speech and association.
Planned Parenthood said on Thursday that further consideration by the full court was needed to protect women’s access to preventive health care like breast and cervical cancer screenings and birth control.
The UN is attempting to help control the outcome of the coming election.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, on
Tuesday, has sent a letter to
the OSCE (an United Nations organization in charge of voter fraud, world wide)
warning the organization that its representatives “are not authorized by Texas
law to enter a polling place” and that it “may be a criminal offense for OSCE’s
representatives to maintain a presence within 100 feet of a
polling place’s entrance.”
What
most people do not know is that Obama invited these clowns into the fray.
A second term will see much more of his one world agenda.
The
world believes that religion is a curse (oh, yes it does -- show me
one nation other than the US that honors people of faith in
a democratic setting). The world believes that wealth belongs
to all of its citizens, equally, whether they work for it or not
and, taxation, whether it be due to legislation
or regulation, is the avenue used for the redistribution of wealth.
Everything that has been a troubling part of
the American politic over the course of the past four years has to do with the two above stated considerations.
Be afraid.
Be very afraid.
