Quotable Quotes: I am 67 years old and have never seen the Left act this way. The Obama's are the leaders of a gang, not a political party. Such a shame - J David Smithson (no article)

Obama has his first good week in three months. What happens next??

This past week ended three months of disastrous campaign decisions and failing polling numbers for Obama.  Nothing he put forward over the past 15 weeks has given him any kind of a bounce,  at all.
This week brought an end to that drought.  He moved ahead of Romney in the Rasmussen head to head poll for the first time in nearly a month, and
hit the elusive “50%” mark for one of the few times that has happened over the past three years.

What has not happened,  however,  is any marked improvement in his “strongly approve” numbers.  Understand that this is the "enthusiasm level" and is more important than the general “total approve” number.

Why do I make that claim?    For one thing,  the voting percentage of the “strongly approve” segment is nearly 100%.   His campaign workforce is in this demographic, as well.   Obama won the 2008 election with a strongly approve percentage of 45.    The last time Obama saw a "40% strongly approve” number was March 6, 2009, just six weeks after he took the oath.  The last time he saw 30% “strongly approve”  was November 11,  of 2009.

Unless and until Obama’s numbers reach the mid to high “30’s” in his strongly approve rating,  his re-election is in serious jeopardy.  Turn-out and enthusiasm are the keys to an anti capitalist,  pro redistributionist victory.

I personally do not believe that turn out will duplicate  the 70 million voters who placed their marks by the side of Obama’s name.  He won that election by a margin of nearly 10 million votes.  But things are much different now,  in 2012,  and he stands to lose a significant portion of that winning cushion.

Here is why:

First,  many folks are “turned off” by his lies and populace disconnect.  Some of these people will be swing voters.

His approval numbers with Independents are not good,  and this group, swing voters all,   makes their votes count.

Third,  he has far too much exposure to make a difference, personally.  If he cannot capitalize off an event of some sort (such as the recent Supreme Court decision),  it is for certain that Obama’s rhetoric is not the key to success,  although he is campaigning as if that were not true.   As a result,  there will be few “conversion voters” to his side of the aisle.

If you have not noticed,  the Slickster’s campaign strategy is to speak to as many progressive audiences as he can.  It is his strategy to win this election solely on the basis of a divided nation with the largest majority in his camp.  That is what he believes.  That is his only hope.

Understand that the 2008 election saw 70 million vote for Obama and 61 million vote for the other guy.  I do not believe that Obama’s numbers will grow.  In fact, I believe that 70 million was an optimum response to his candidacy.  Fewer Americans will vote for him in this election.    A swing of 5 million votes could win this election for the good guys.  Of course,  beating Obama is not as simple as winning the national vote.  Ask Al Gore about that.

As we move closer and closer to November the 6th, this blog will be concerned with how the numbers are working.   I will, also, continue presenting   talking points that help define the philosophical divide and give the reader some sort of polemic advantage.

If we win,  we have four years to prove that we can solve the primary societal problems facing this nation.  If not,  the game is over for all time,  and the United States of America will enter a track that takes this nation into membership with the larger, One World community  --  and our role in that environment will not be one of strength  -- Obama has ended that possibility.

And, to think,  just four years ago,  our only problem was one of debt.

After the Supreme Court ruling, we now know that the "Affordable Care Act" is really the largest middle class tax increase in American history.

Matt Cover / CNSNews:
White House Statement on Obamacare Mandate Tax Contradicts Supreme Court Ruling  —  (CNSNews.com) - The White House said Friday that the Obamacare insurance mandate tax is a penalty for not having insurance - a statement that directly contradicts what the Supreme Court ruled Thursday. . . . .

Editor’s notes:  the ignorance displayed by this White House is mind numbing.  They defended the Obama Care Tax Act as a “tax”  before the High Court,  won their appeal on that basis and that basis alone,  and now want you to think that it is not a tax,  despite the fact that the IRS is in charge of enforcing this “penalty.”

Here is what Roberts had to say after he rewrote the government’s oral arguments:   “The Affordable Care Act's requirement that certain individuals pay a financial penalty for not obtaining health insurance may reasonably be characterized as a tax.”

Like it or not,  Obama and his Marxist/One World hordes have passed the largest tax on middle class working folks,  in the history of the world  -  seriously.  Understand that this legislative action is not health care reform,  but only a monstrous tax that adds 160 federal agencies to the list of government concerns and $420 billion in new taxes (over ten years).

If left alone,  this Obama Care Tax Act will be wholly unaffordable within fives and will implode upon itself.  Monthly insurance premiums will continue to rise at three times the rate of inflation and a entire population of young adults,  who typically wait to buy insurance because of their early entry into the workforce and comparative low wages,  will now be required to spend at least $550 a month for individual insurance coverage.  Obama has to have these suckers in the system because they represent a source of income against which there is very little expense.  Because of Obama, these young adults to own insurance in spite of the fact that they do not get sick, as a matter of course . . . . . . .but, hey,  they can live with their Mommy and Daddy for four extra years.

When we say Obama is a “tax and spend” Democrat,  we mean to say that he is just that.

Understand that his is the party which supports Masturbation Day celebrations (whatever that is) at Planned Parenthood and opposes a balanced budget amendment.  His is the party that hugs all over Castro and Hugo Chavez but orders the Christian church to violate its own doctrines and conscience.   His is the party that is working against the sovereignty of the United States while sitting on the sidelines,  waiting for someone else to stand up for the folks in Syria -- 14,000 dead in that country while Obama picks his nose and brags about his early intervention into Libya.

And now,  Obama and the Democrats have raped the youth of America,  “given” them something they do not need and will not use,  and expect them to vote them back into power.

End Notes:
Out of Canada, we have this observation
When the Democrats were selling Obamacare their mantra was that the financial penalty charged to those Americans who refused to obtain medical coverage was absolutely, definitively, NOT a tax. I recall ABC-TV’s George Stephanopoulos’ direct question to President Obama and his reply: “This is not a tax”.
Turns out that Mr. Obama was dead wrong, because today the United States Supreme Court determined that Obamacare was constitutional by virtue of Congress’ authority to tax, but could not be justified on the basis that it was a matter of commerce, which is the way it was sold to the House, the Senate and the public. Not surprisingly, that’s how Obama’s lawyers sold it to the Court once they realized their “commerce” argument was not going to fly. . . . . Canada.com  http://o.canada.com/2012/06/29/oops-its-a-tax-obamacare/n:

Here is what the new Obama Care Tax plan will do for you under the guise of being health care reform.

<<<<<< Here is what is about to happen to us, but first this note: The GOP may be "heartless,"  but, at least,  many of them understand the crisis we are facing.  Obama has taken this country down the path of no return.  But what should we have expected?  The Democrat Party,  apparently,  has no one within its ranks who knows how to write a financial statement or pass a budget  --  and these are the jerks who wrote the ObamaCareTax law !!!!  Amazing.

Before getting into the negatives of the ObamaCare Tax,  I give you this reminder:

GDP/Medicare/the ObamaCare Tax
Currently,  this nation's health care cost's run 17% of our GDP.  With this new Obama Care Tax,  most expect this to rise to between 25% and 30% of GDP. We now know that this tax law reduces nothing,  and will cost the American taxpayer more than $ 500 billion per year,  added onto an annual Obama debt of 1.4 trillion dollars,  annually. (Bush’s annual debt was around $400 billion, by contrast).    Medicare came into effect in the mid-1960's,  and is now 39 trillion in the hole in terms of unfunded liability.  Expect the ObamaCare Tax to be worse.  And expect Medicare to implode.  Obama has doomed this program.  You can't cut half a trillion out of Medicare and, then,  add 30 million to its rolls,  and not destroy the program.  That is impossible.

Here is what the ObamaCare Tax (OCT)  means for you:

You will lose your primary care doctor
In all probability and within five years,   you will lose your primary care doctor.  The insurance you currently have via your employer will be canceled out and you will have to find your own insurance or join an exchange.

All health decisions will be reviewed by non medical personnel
All health care decisions  will be managed via unlicensed medical “professionals” whose sole concern will be keeping costs down - cut and slash is the only way this will happen under the OCT.  Your medical information will be passed on to at least six different agencies,  with the beginning of this idiot plan  (which means,  this gets worse).  As the ugly truth of ObamaCare Tax expense comes out,  medical care managed by non medical personnel  -  folks like me – will become more and more the common course of the day.  Palin called these,  “death panels” and,  indeed, that is what has been ratified by the Roberts court.

Medicare service will be cut drastically
You know this will happen.  While the Dems laugh at Paul Ryan and accuse him of "throwing grandma off the cliff,"  they are the ones who have cut half a trillion from Medicare and intend adding 30 million folks to the Medicare roles.   What moron thought that combination was a good idea?

They want your insurance premiums, not the penalty tax  -  and they are going to get it.
If you do not have insurance,  you will have to pay increasing taxes/fines beginning in 2014.  For example, in 2014,  an individual will pay a $95 tax or 1% of her income  -  which, for the average American,  will be $560.00.    That penalty tax will increase to more than $1400 dollars in just two years,  and,  in due time,  will become so burdensome that you will be forced to buy the insurance.  Within ten years, your non-compliance tax will be more than $7000, annually, as an individual and $20,000 if a family.

Young Adults - the days of your free ride are over.
The ObamaCare Tax  represents a huge burden on young adults,  who, typically,  have little or no insurance expense, and little or no health costs.  But what do young adults know?  They think raising the age one can live off Mommy’s insurance,  to 26 will be worth the thousands of dollars they will have to spend beginning when they turn 27  -  or age 23 if they do not live at home with their parents, now.    Understand that ten years from now,  the average young adult will be forced to pay north of $550 per month for their insurance  -  good luck finding a job that gives you this kind of income.

You all want to live in tents and ride bicycles?  Well,  that is just around the corner.

Again,  the Democrats do not want your penalty taxes,  they want your insurance premiums and they are going to choke them out of you.  But keep voting for these financial morons.  They only want your money but, hey,  you can live with Mommy and Daddy for four more stinking years.  What a deal.

Premiums will continue to rise at 3x the inflation rate. They fixed NOTHING.
What about your insurance premiums? Watch those continue to rise at two and three times the cost of inflation.  Nothing has changed in this regard.   Understand that the  ObamaCare Tax has rules to hold down premiums for some groups, but,  such provisions will effect  relatively few,  and none of those relatives will be members of your family !!

Cadillac policies will be heavily taxed.
Since it is not fair that one person has a better insurance policy than another,  there will be a hefty “Cadillac tax”  for these better policies  - the extra money collected will go to pet projects totally unrelated to health care issues.

The Roberts Court has just approved 420 billion in new taxes.
Understand that the ObamaCare Tax will begin with 20 difference tax hikes,  totaling $420 billion.  This starts in 2014.  Most medical deductions will be canceled out.  No more medical savings plans and,  in short order,  we will see the extinction of flexible spending accounts.  More than 30% of the additional 420 billion in new taxes will be shared by the working poor and the middle class.

What of the billions demanded to coordinate this Obama Care Tax?
You should know that more than 160 federal agencies will be created with this new tax law  -  but you get to stay home for four more years.  No one talks about the cost of coordination among these agencies.  You are looking at billions and billions of cost never mentioned when we reference ObamaCare.  We are all fools  . . . . .  and, sadly, we are about to pay for this in spades,  while the Obama’s fly off to their retirement home in Kenya or some private island.

Kiss your mortgage tax deduction good-bye. "They" need it for this new tax law.
The home owners mortgage tax deduction will go the way of the wind  -  costing most middle class home owners and retirees an addition $2,700 per year in increased income tax payments.  Dividend taxes will increase from 15% to 44%  and on and on.

Hospital Closures are just 8 years in the future.
We are told that  30% of American hospitals will not see the light of day,  after 2020 (link).    We will be 160,000 short on needed doctors by that time,  which means that more of our health care decisions will be made by folks who are not doctors. - nurses and healthcare practitioners, neither of which are as qualified as are our doctors.

There is a huge and increasing tax on medical equipment,  forcing healthcare costs up.

Conclusion
This new tax will effect every man, woman and child in this country in negative terms.  While many of the benefits are wonderful, financial collapse because of our entitlement programs,  is hardly worth effort.  You should know that Social Security,  Medicare,  Medicaid, and, now the ObamaCare Tax will soon consume every penny of our annual and collected income taxes and will drive this country into the ground.  This may happen in my life time and I am 67.  Understand that I am saying that within 10 years,  there will be no money left for military spending,  crisis management (such as the Colorado fires),  infrastructure repair and replacement,  public service retirement packages, nor cost of living increases to our retired citizenry.

The GOP may be "heartless,"  but, at least,  many of them understand the crisis we are facing.  Obama has taken this country down the path of no return.  But what should we have expected?  The Democrat Party,  apparently,  has no one within its ranks who knows how to write a financial statement or pass a budget  --  and these are the jerks who wrote the ObamaCareTax law !!!!  Amazing.

The Fast and Furious dike is beginning to leak . . . . badly.

Update:   two contempt citations were passed through the House on Thursday with votes including 17 Democrats. One was a criminal contempt which was declined by the Solicitor General just hours ago.  No surprise there.  The second was a civil action and that will proceed into civil/Federal court,  where Holder will be required to surrender some the documents he wants kept secret.   The investigation will not impact the election except as it presents a corrupt AG office to many voters.  Make no mistake, however,  if Obama survives the election,  this bit of corruption will become one of the principle news stories of Obama's next term.  Nixon prosecutors did much the same thing,  as far as time-tables are concerned,  and he was forced into resignation during his second term.  In the end,  this election will be about the economy  -  not this scandal,  not Obama's passed cocaine use,  not ObamaCare.  All of the above will play a role,  no doubt,  but nothing is more important than the state of the economy and the selection of someone who actually knows what he is doing.

So Elijah Cummings along with Eric Holder knew of top secret details concerning Fast and Furious as of May 24.  Not only that, this information was the result of an approved wire tape that signed by several assistant Attorneys General.  Either these individuals were acting on their own,  or they were acting under Holder’s oversight (at least).  Whatever the case,  it appears that Holder was lying about what he knew and Cummings has been aware of this for several weeks.   Anyone still think this is a partisan witch hunt ???

Issa Puts Wiretap Details in Congressional Record
1:53 PM, JUN 29, 2012 • BY DANIEL HALPER
Roll Call reports the latest news in the Fast and Furious scandal:
In the midst of a fiery floor debate over contempt proceedings for Attorney General Eric Holder, House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) quietly dropped a bombshell letter into the Congressional Record.
The May 24 letter to Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), ranking member on the panel, quotes from and describes in detail a secret wiretap application that has become a point of debate in the GOP’s “Fast and Furious” gun-walking probe. . . . . . . .
According to the letter, the wiretap applications contained a startling amount of detail about the operation, which would have tipped off anyone who read them closely about what tactics were being used.
Holder and Cummings have both maintained that the wiretap applications did not contain such details and that the applications were reviewed narrowly for probable cause, not for whether any investigatory tactics contained followed Justice Department policy.

Obama has quietly banned close to 1 million guns, with more such decisions in the mix, after the coming election - should he win/

Understand that both Hillary and Barack are extreme anti-gun enthusiasts.  Hillary has announced her desire to use United Nations control to ban guns,  entirely.  While Barack has not made such an announcement  (he sill believes that we are fooled by his rhetorical nonsense),  he is implementing a stealth campaign against the 2nd Amendment.  Here is a letter of warning from Senator Ran Paul dealing with this subject:

Dear fellow American,
Nearly 1 million American firearms banned by a stroke of Barack Obama’s pen.
In a move unprecedented in American history, the Obama Administration quietly banned the re-importation of nearly 600,000 American made M1 Carbine rifles.
And I've just discovered Obama may be blocking as many 300,000 1911 Colts too!  That's nearly one million pieces of American history denied to the American people.
The M1 Carbine, developed in the late 1930’s, carried the United States through World War II seeing action in every major battle.
Now, South Korea, which received the rifles as a loan during the Korean War, wants to give American gun collectors the chance to get their hands on this unique piece of history.
But according to Hillary Clinton’s State Department there is a danger they might, possiblyone day “fall into the wrong hands.”
Let me be clear: at no time in U.S. history has the ownership of this firearm -- or any part of this firearm -- been illegal, restricted or banned.
Americans have collected World War II M1 Carbines for decades.
I’m helping lead the fight to defeat this radical gun ban in the United States Senate and I want your help.
Please join me by taking a public stand AGAINST this outright assault on our Second Amendment rights by signing the Official Firearms Freedom Survey below!
For Freedom,

Rand Paul
U.S. Senator (R-KY)

Fox Morning News: Within hours of the Supreme Court's decision, the Romney campaign had collected $3.2 million in campaign donations from 30,000 individual donors.

Update:  as of 8 am (pt),   June 29,  total collections have risen to 4.2 million

What's wrong with Maxine Waters and why she is an indictment on the larger Socialist Democrat Party?

<<<< An avid Socialist,  a woman who openly supports Castro and Hugo Chavez is also a crook and an accepted member of the Democrat Party.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA): Rep. Maxine Waters is one of the most senior and one of the most outspoken members of Congress. She is also one of the most corrupt.
In August 2010, an investigative subcommittee of the House Ethics Committee charged Rep. Waters with three counts of violating House rules and ethics regulations in connection with her use of power and influence on behalf of OneUnited Bank. Understand that this indictment was made during the closing months of the Democrat controlled House and is not a partisan attack on this nut-ball,  for that reason.  She was expected to face an ethics trial in late 2010, but the committee delayed the trial indefinitely on November 29, 2010, citing newly discovered documentary evidence that may impact proceedings.
The delay apparently has less to do with evidence and more to do with infighting on the panel. Ultimately, an outside counsel was retained and a recommendation was expected by January 2, 2012. However, the Committee announced that the Waters probe will be extended until July 31, 2012.
According to The Associated Press, the charges currently under the House Ethics Committee microscope “focus on whether Waters broke the rules in requesting federal help [bailout money] for a bank where her husband owned stock and had served on the board of directors.” At the time she requested the help, Waters neglected to tell Treasury officials about her financial ties to OneUnited Bank.
Without intervention by Waters (and a big assist from her co-conspirator Rep. Barney Frank), OneUnited was an extremely unlikely candidate for Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) funding. The Treasury Department indicated that it would only provide bailout funds to healthy banks to jump-start lending. However, Judicial Watch uncovered documents detailing the deplorable financial condition of OneUnited at the time of the cash infusion. In fact, just prior to the bailout, OneUnited received a “less than satisfactory rating.”
According to The Washington Times: “A lobbyist known as one of California’s most successful power brokers while serving as a legislative leader in that state paid Rep. Maxine Waters’ husband $15,000 in consulting fees at a time she was co-sponsoring legislation that would help save the real-estate finance business of one of the lobbyist’s best-paying clients…”   Real-estate finance businesses such as the one helped by Waters’ influence, were labeled a “scam” by the IRS in a 2006 report.
Despite all of her ethical woes, Maxine Waters seeks to take over the retiring Barney Frank’s position as the ranking Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee. It is quite obvious that Rep. Waters has neither the integrity nor the ethics necessary to hold such a position of public trust much less the commonsense and the expertise to serve on this committee.
Again,  understand that all of the above are complaints made by members of her own party.  As it turns out,  this woman is not only one of the nastiest partisan members of Congress,  she is a pronounced crook.  Thank God the GOP has no one of equal “notoriety.”    Only the Democrat Party would tolerate her particular brand of idiocy.

New Jobless Report: ObamaCare survived, today. Too bad the Dems do not know that it is the reason the economy cannot recover.

First time jobless claims for last week were 385,000,  but this total will be revised upward to a nominal 390,000,  just like the June 16th report(s).  This election is still about the economy, first and foremost  --  not ObamaCare.  Understand that healthcare reform is a huge reason why the economy is not improving.

Just yesterday,  we were told that the economy has slowed to 1% growth for the first half of the year  -  a recessionary number.  Understand that the Democrats were hanging Bush with "recession" based on the same numbers back in January of 2008.   Now it is Obama's turn.

While this bunch of Ignorants celebrate the survival of ObamaCare,  they have no idea that their crowning glory is a critical reason for their failure to bring this economy out of its illness.  Never forget that Obama does not know how to write a budget proposal - so why would we suppose he understands what he has gotten us all into or how to get us out of this mess?

June 23 - 385,000 initial claims report to be revised next week.
June 16 - 387,000 initial claims revised up by a disturbing 5,000 to 392,000
June 9 - 386,000 new claims/ Revised up to 389,000
June 2 -  377,000 - adjusted up to 380,000

May 26 - 383, 000 revised up by 6,000 to 389,000  revised up 65 out of last 66 weeks.
May 19 - initial report is 370,000 - revised up 3,000 to 373,000.
May 12 - initial report 370,000 , adjusted up to 372,000 (63 out 64 weeks this adjustment has been higher than its initial report)
May 5 - first report is 367,000 - revised with the May 17 report to 370,000

April 28 - first report is 365,000 ---  adjusted up to 368,000 with the May 3 report
April 21 _  first report for week ending on the 21st,  is 388,00 - the same initial report as last week's.  An adjustment [upward ?] will occur with next Thursdays report.  This was adjust up to 392,000.
April 14 - first report is 388,000 to be adjusted next Thursday.  Adjust  number is 389,000
April 7 :  first report is 380,000 off an estimate of 359,000. This number was adjusted up to 388,000 !!!
March 31:  first report was 357,000 but was adjusted upwards by 10,000 to 367,000
March 24 (week ending)  --  359,000,  adjusted up 11,000 from the first report of the week before.

March 17 - 348,000 as a first report.  This will be adjusted up to 350,000 to 352,000 by next Thursday (3/29).  With the March 24 First Report,  we find out that the week ending 3/17 missed the the truth completely/  Instead of 348,000,  the final report was 364,000 or 16,000 off the mark.

March 10 - 351,000 as a first report.  We expect this number to be revised to 354,000. It was adjusted to 353,000, 000
March 3 (week ending)  First report 362,000 - adjusted upward to 365,000

Feb 25  -  351,000 before weekly adjustment  - 3,000 higher than the initial report of Feb 11.  --  This week was adjusted up to 354,000
Feb 18 - 355,000 before weekly adjustment (supposedly, the weekly adjustment was 353,000)
Feb 11 355, 000 after adjustment (originally reported at 348,000 (?)
Feb 4 361,000 without weekly adjustment
Jan 28   367,000 adjusted to 373,000
Jan 21  Adjusted up to 379,00:  initial report was 377,000, an increase of 21,000 or 25,000 higher than the original report of the 14th.
Jan 14 352,000 first Labor report:  (week ending) first report numbers are 355,000 on Fox, 352,000 from Labor. A 2nd   revision brought this week's number to 356,000
Jan 7 399,000 unadjusted. I expect this to be 403,000 after revision. The actual adjusted number was 402,000

Libs assert the GOP CANNOT change ObamaCare. Here is why they are dead wrong.

My counter discussion is in green.  The remainder are points made by the foreigners at Think Progress,  a Marxist/Socialist blog.

1) Romney has no authority to issue waivers. According to the law, HHS (together with the IRS) have waiver authority, but only if the states meet very specific requirements

Obama has set the precedent for the use of executive orders . . . . they can be used for whatever purpose the prez deems fits.  The clowns at "Think Progress" want you to believe that they believe in law and order,  when,  in point of fact, they are anarchists.  More than this,  there is nothing in the law that prohibits the new Congress from rewriting the law or parts of the law.  To say otherwise is just plain silly.

2) Congress can’t repeal the full law through reconciliation. Without the necessary 60 votes in the Senate for full repeal, Republicans are pledging to use a budget reconciliation bill to undo the ACA. But this process would only apply to the budget-related elements of the law and would thus leave many portions — including the mandate — intact.

Understand that the Senate,  via "reconciliation"  can choke the life out of ObamaCare.  The Attorney General can refuse to prosecute and the libs at the IRS can be replaced.  (Reconciliation is a legislative tool that applies to budget matters,  at least it did before Obama,  and the vote requirement is just 51)

3) Republicans have nothing to replace it with. David Frum explains that since the expansion of coverage provisions go into effect in 2014, Romney would have just one year to both repeal and replace the law.

The "start date" for ObamaCare is not written in stone.  The 113th Congress can postpone significant dates or move them ahead a hundred years,  if they so decide.

4) Americans support Obamacare’s provisions. While Americans may not like “Obamacare” — and the political process of passing it — they do support its major provisions and are likely to resist any effort by Republicans to take away their benefits.

Americans support portability (taking insurance from one job to the next) ,  serious tort reform,  the end of border restrictions opening up opportunities to shop for the lowest bidder,  health care savings plans for some.  There is plenty that the American people like about the GOP's plans.
